future proofing = use CAT 7
regardless of whether or not the current CEO has slowed down the replacement of the analogue MasterLink by a digital network or not, using CAT 7 will prepare you for the future ... allow you to use the wiring for other purposes ... etc etc

Remember that the current cabling needs more than 1 CAT cable where you'd need only one ML cable.

kai:I was not aware that you need two cat 7 cables!! One should be more than enough to carry any hd or audio signal, care to expand on that!!
I know! It does seem a tad excessive,
There is a manual floating around that helps illustrate (but not explain adequately) why it ends up like that.
Do a search for "Cat7_Class_F._New_BO_installation_handbook" and you should find some three hits you can download from.
I would simply run both ml and cat 7!
I am actually thinking about cable requirements also. Whether you use cat 7 for your B&O equipment or use ML cable, I would install an additional cat 7 cable for network traffic that is completely digital as in the internet and data connections throughout your house.

Is this an old house that you are refitting ?
When I refitted my house I ran a lot of cable ducts which rise behind the 8 inch skirting boards. The skirting was then screwed on to the dry lining batons.
The only downside of this is I have to fill/sand/paint every time I take any off any - but how often do you relocate equipment ?

I should have been more precise.
B&O is using CAT7 for everything now, Masterlink, Beolink, HDMI Distribution, Even IR baster.
The cables have changed to CAT 7, but it still the old analog signal that is used, no HD sound or video is carried on them.
As it has been said, you can't use the same CAT 7 cable to transport your audio and your IP network.
So I''d use at least 2, as soon you'll need an IP network as well.
On top of this, if you want to distribute HD video, which is only possible using an HDMI matrix controlled by the TV, and I think only the BV7 and above can do it, then you need 2 additional CAT 7 cable to transport the HDMI signal...
By the way...you still need an additional RF cable if you want to distribute low def video.
The best plan for cables "is better looking at it then for it"
It would be worth your while to try have a dedicated electrical circuit for your B&O only and make sure you have a good earth/ground for the whole house.
Kai, standard ML is so cheap now I would have thought the cost of cables and ends would be less than the cat7 to ML converters, maybe touch base with Steve at Sounds Heavenly for his analysis.
