I have a 1997 Avant ( built in VHS ) , I also bought a few years later a Panasonic DVD player and the B&O DVD Controller that goes into the scart socket of the Avant, all works fine.

But sometimes I just want to play a CD, so I pop it into the Panasonic and the Avant plays the CD beautifully, someone told me a long time ago that the Avant speakers are similar to the Beolab 4000, I don't know how true that it is but it sound very good at low volume in the evening for me :-)

the only thing I would like to do is turn off the Avant screen when playing CD's, does anyone know the sequence of Beo4 key presses for me to do this by chance ?

Press LIST until AV appears on the Beo4 display, then press DVD.

The screen will go off but the sound will remain. You can control the DVD player as normal with the Beo4.

If you don't have AV on your list:

Hold the off button and press LIST

ADD? press GO

scroll down until AV appears: press GO

ADDED

AV will now be on the list

Is your Ouverture connected to the Avant in any way?

I had AV in my list on the Beo4, so I pressed DVD as you say, but sadly the TV screen stayed on.

I think the AV command you mention only works if the Avant is connected to the Beosound Ouverture via Masterlink, but my Ouverture is not connected via ML to the Avant.

so I am a bit stuck on this now - other ideas most welcome for me to try
