Hi,

Further to an earlier post trying about not getting any sound between a bc9500 and BV7 MKII using a 16ll converter, I was wondering if I should be using a specific powerlink cable?

Thanks

Dan

No. You won't need a special PL cable. Afair BL converter only uses PIN 4 to detect if BC9500 is activated or not.

I read your ' BC9500 linked to...' thread and I wanted to reply earlier but because of all the korean spam (!!!!) I did not - sorry!

And many thanks / mange tak to the moderating team to sove this problem !!!

So what I find strange is that your BC9500 starts muted...??

If BL converter is connected with ML cable to BV7, BC9500 AUX LINK socket via 7pin AUDIO AUX LINK cable to AUX LINK socket on BL converter,

BV7 set to V.OPT 2, BC set to A.OPT 0 it should work. In this setup the audiomaster - BC9500 - is the (audio-) source center for the viideomaster.

Muting the source center makes no sense, muting speakers will happen via the master the Beolabs are connected to.

So just try to setup the system as described before, but disconnect the PL cable - hope this helps.

Stefan

I thought it was the fully wired Mk2 cable only on these?

I'm not 100% sure though....

You don't need the PL cable in this setup - the Aux/DataLink is sufficient.

However using a PL (fully wired) gives you the possibility of using the controls of the BC9500 to activate playback on the BV7.

Otherweise you will have to do all controlling via remotecontrol on the BV7 - the V.Master being in option 2 (with the speakers) and the A.Master in option 0 (without speakers) and both in one room.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Thanks everyone, still no luck at all.  I'm wondering if I give up or try and replace each item from cheapest to the most expensive to see if their is a fault somewhere!  Thinking of trying in this order:

Datalink cable

Beolink cable

Converter

Again any suggestions very welcome.

Thanks

Dan

I cheated, using a splitter and attaching the speakers to both the TV and BC9500 - I now get sound!!
