Hi,
I just bough a Beovision Avant 55 and a pair of Beolab 18's but have a couple of questions that I hoped the experts in here could help me figure out.
I am a little confused about how to set up the BL18 versus the internal speakers in the TV. Which setup would be the best? To use all 3 internal speakers of the TV, together with the BL18, or which configuration would the experts from this forum recommend?
I primary use the tv for watching movies and tv-series, through my apple tv (airplay, or netflix), or for music through the Spotify app.
Also I have another extra question:both the speakers, and the tv makes some kind of "vibration" if i touch the metal on the top, like something is wrong with the electricity, is that something to be worried about or is that normal?

Hi Michel,
did you read about how to make 'Speaker Groups' in the User Guide?
You can read more about this in the Technical Sound Guide, that can be found on the B&O website.
Usually - when you have external front speakers - you set up a speakers group with the/all internal speakers as the Center channel and the fronts as Left/Right channels. This is for tv/movies etc.
You can assign this speaker group to the source/s, that you want - as an example to an AppleTV, that is used for Netflix.
This means, that choosing the ATV via BeoRemote One also turn this speakers constallation on as default.
For music you normally would use the external speakers as Left/Right (stereo).
If you assign that speakers group to 'Spotify', it will start automatily, when you push the button, you have choosen for listening to Spotify.
However you can create up to 9 different speaker consallations/groups, and you can choose these manually with the remote (see the user guide).
Means - if you have set up a group for tv-watching with internal speakers as center and the external as left/right, you can also have a group with the internal speakers as L/C/R (and no externals) for late night watching or news....
Just give it a try!
You can always edit these groups or cancel the ones, you have made. The only one, that stays as is, is the 'tv speakers group' - the first one.
I am curious - didn't you get any advice/hint from your dealer?

There is a tv - and there is a BV
BeoNut since '75
At low volumes you'll hardly hear BL18s. So, I suggest you to put +2dB on BL18s.

Hi congratulations on a great purchase. Have the TV and speakers arrived?
If you're setting up the TV and speakers yourself, it would be beneficial to create speaker groups for the speakers.
For TV i use the 3 internal speakers for Left Right and Centre
For Movies/Cinema i would use all 5 speakers and the speaker group for all 5 speakers will depend on where you have your BL18s
If you have them at the rear then you could set them as rear left and right, or if you have them at the front you could set them as Left and Right (if you had other speakers at the rear)
You could make another group for music and just use the BL18s
It is normal for all electric products where there is metal to have a sort of vibration, if that is where you run your finger gently over and it feels like a small current running through.
When using external speakers, such as the BL 18's, I would recommend to set the internal speakers of the TV to "centre" (or "midt" in your case) for all three of them.
You may find it useful to create a speaker group without any other speakers than the internal ones (for kids watching Disney channel, for late night tv watching when the rest of the family is at sleep etc): assign the internal speakers as left-centre-right in this case.

Hi everybody,
Thanks for all the answers.
I am a little confused, but as I understand the best thing to do is. Let me start by saying that the BL18's is in front (right and left), and that the only TV I watch is through streaming (we don't have cable), just netflix, hbo etc through the AppleTV.
Speakergroup 1 for the Spotify App
This speaker group only uses the BL 18's (and the BL19, when one day in future I buy such one)... Correct?
Speaker group 2 for my AppleTV
I use AppleTV to Stream Netflix, HBO, etc. So this speaker group as I understand the recommendation is to make a speaker group which uses the BL18's for left and right + 2db
And the 3 speakers in the TV I all assign as centre?
Here, I am a little confused, because I have several options when assigning the speaker(center front, left front, right front, left wide, right wide, left surround, right surround)
Speaker group 2 for Youtube on AppleTV
Used for musicvideoes etc. For this speaker group only use the BL18's (and the BL19, when one day in future I buy such one).. Correct?
By the way: I did read the chapter, as you recommended, but are just curious right now, about which "Setup" to make :)
The dealer sent 2 persons to install the tv, but they didn't really use the time to set it up as I wished, so I thought no body cares as much as my self, and therefore I should search support on this forum :)
