Hi
I recently purchased a B&O beosystem 2300 and beolab 8000 pre loved.
They did not come with any cables, as such I have to purchase them from the local agent of B&O here in singapore.
When i hook the speakers to the beosound 2300, i could play the cd on the 2300 and the light on the 8000 were green. BUT no sound is coming out at all.
I tried to check this forum on similar issues and try to switch cable, check the switch behind for L and R speakers and the power links seems to be okay.
As I try to diagnose the problem, it seems like a new problem arise.
Now the right speaker remains red and nothing comes out.
The left speaker seems to be okay, green light.
But no sound is coming out of L and R speaker.
The glass door on the 2300 also seems to be faulty. It does not slide when you go near or waive your hand.
Any advise will be much much appreciated.
Thanks.,

to add on...
I plug in my headphones to the connection on the 2300.
The CD sounds fine.
Hi,
try to set the BeoSound 2300 in A.Opt 1. This should give you sound at the Beolab 8000.

Agree on the option setting…
Per your description, with all things turning on, getting green lights shows that signals are triggered and received, the sets are in working condition.
Previously, since they are preloved, they must have been connected and used collectively with other B&Os so might have been set to other options...
Enjoy and welcome to the B&O family..
Thanks all
Sorry for the naive question, but where and how do i set this option setting?
I don't see it on beosound 2300 and i was trying to use the remote but still clueless...
Thanks in advance
Which remote do you have?
Dave.
i am using the beo4 remote control
jeferyk: i am using the beo4 remote control
OK then. When the BC2300 is in standby, on your BEO 4 remote, press the 'List' button until you see the word 'OPTION?'. When you see 'OPTION?', press 'GO' (the centre round button), then press the 'List' button a few times and it should scroll through 'V-OPT, A-OPT and L-OPT'. When 'A-OPT' is displayed, press the button with the number '1' on it. The red standby light should flash and the BC2300 should now be set to A-OPT 1.
If when you press 'List' there is no 'OPTION?' listed, you will need to 'ADD' it onto your remote from it's hidden function list. To do that, press and hold the red dot standby button on the remote and then press 'List' at the same time. You should see the word 'ADD?' in the display - if you don't, press 'List' until you do. Let go of both buttons. Now press the centre round button 'Go'. Now press 'List' until you see 'Option?' and press 'Go' again to add it onto the list you can view on your remote. Press 'Exit' and your remote is ready. You should now be able to press 'List' until 'Option?' is displayed.
With your remote control right up in front of your 2300, Press and hold the red dot standby button on the remote and then press 'List' at the same time. You should see the word 'ADD?' in the display. Press the right arrow until you see OPTION?. press GO. You will see V. OPT press the right arrow to A. OPT then press 1. The standby light on your 2300 should blink.
