Hi,I am planning to have a BeoVision 4-50/BeoLab 10 and BeoLab 3500 in the same room. I am wondering whether I need to install a separate round IR-eye in that room with home run wire back to BeoSystem 3 or whether the IR eye in BeoLab 3500 is enough. The latter has master link running back to BeoSystem 3. Basically, does the IR eye in BeoLab 3500 provide the same functionality as separately installed round IR eye.
Thank you,Dee.
Hi Dee, completely separate am afraid. Beosystem 3 IR eye has auto-contrast feature as well.
With both components in the same room either use a reduced range cap or set the BL3500 to L.OPT 4 or else it will keep turning on if it picks up your commands to the bs3.
Thank you KoS, for your prompt reply. Do you recommend installing the round IR eye in that room at all, or should I just rely on BL 3500's built-in IR only? Sorry, I am not familiar with the auto-contrast feature.
It has been remiss of me not to ask if you have mk3 4-50 in which case the ir is built-into the screen.
I don't have the BV 4-50 yet. I am looking to purchase one. So my understanding, I should look for MK3 version, so I won't need to install a separate IR eye. How would I tell that the BV 4-50 I am looking at is the MK3 version and not MK2? Any distinctive features.
Thanks.

Originally, I had that room pre-wired with Master Link for BeoLab 3500. Then, we've decided to add a TV to it. We are thinking about BV 4-50/BL 10 combination on a wall mount. Is it OK to have them both in the same room like that?
Is this in a LinkRoom. Do you have another TV and/or another hifi in another room?
I am asking this to define what is the best way to configure them.
My apologies, but I am not sure if I understand what LinkRoom is. I am still learning all these terms. :) There is a master link cable running from this room back to media closet where I have BS3. All other rooms in the house (2 floors) have B&O equipment too, some have ML back and some don't. Not sure if this answers the question. I believe I have a floor layout diagram showing all of the equipment around the house. I can try to attach it to this post if this would be helpful. Please let me know.
