Hi together,

some weeks ago I bought some Beolab 6000 with defect surroundings (didn't see it when I bought them).

Yesterday I tested them for the first time and they sound distorted when the volume is raised.

Are the defect surroundings distorting the bass?

If that's the case, i would try to renew them by myself i guess.

I found these 2 websites for new surroundings. Which one can you recommend?

audiofriends.nl : http://www.repairyourspeakers.com/index.php?action=search&lang=DE&srchval=beolab+6000

They offer 3 inch and 3,5 inch surroundings, both for the Beolab 6000? Hm...

speakerrepairshop.com (goodhifi) : http://www.speakerrepairshop.com/index.php?action=article&aid=56&lang=DE

They offer 3,3 inch surroundings for the Beolab 3500. Same for Beolab 6000?

Any help is welcomed! Thanks in advance!

Hey,

in German it says it's for the 3500, so i guess it is the same.

Thank you, I will try it with these surroundings!

Can anyone help me with this one? Still not sure, if I have to replace the whole woofer or just the surroundings :/

Yesterday I tested them for the first time and they sound distorted when the volume is raised.

Are the defect surroundings distorting the bass?

If that's the case, i would try to renew them by myself i guess.

Does the distortion come from the defect surroundings or did someone overload the speakers?

How can I find out?

Thanks in advance!

If you can see that the surrounds are defective then try replacing them as the first port of call.  Replacing all of the speakers is an expensive business and I suspect not for novices as they probably need calibrating.

If you replace the surrounds and you still have distortion, then you need to seek further advice.

Rotten or damaged surrounds make the sound horrendous!

Dave.

Thank you!

I will try to repair it with the surroundings from speakerrepairshop.
