I do have a Beolink 7000 Floorstand Type Nr. 1553, but I don't have the power adapter to charge the installed Beolink. Does anybody know the voltage / ampere etc. of the adaptor? Plus / minus inside or outside the pin that goes into the stand? Size?

So I could buy a generic one, I am sure trying to find an original one for sale is impossible....

Thanks in advance!

Ralf

PS: I don't know if this is the right place to post - maybe Vintage Products Section is better...?

The power supply is 9V, and the batteries are charged at a surprisingly high 350+mA (which explains why NiMh batteries are no good!), Can't remember what the remote consumes when 'on', I will look in my notes tomorrow.

In order to confirm the polarity, get a meter on continuity or resistance, and measure from the right hand pin of the three to the appropriate wire for positive and middle for negative. There is a resistor of 220k I think that shunts the data and power pins, not sure if this is built into the stand it wouldn't really make sense any other way!

Hello Olly,

thanks for your support.

Unfortunately I don't own a meter to meseasure polarity.
Any other idea?

I cannot see three pins, just one pin as in standard power connectors..
This is what it looks like:

Thanks again!

Ralf

Can't you borrow a meter? Maplin / ebay etc. sell meters for under a tenner, it will be more than capable and you might find it useful one day ;)

The three-pin connector mentioned above is the on the top of the stand, which connects straight to the Beolink itself, when mounted.

The PSU for the stand should be 9V DC, 2A (probably over-sized, smaller might do just as well)

Plug: 5,5mm (outer diameter), 2,1mm (inner diameter), center positive. Just checked this from my actual (generic) PSU for the stand, and from the emails from Leslie, from whom I bought my stand some three years ago. Smile

Edit: if you find, buy a PSU with a fixed, correct plug (ie. not one with connector, and several reversable connectors of different sizes). The plug goes quite deep into the stand, and a bigger plug/adapter might not fit in properly, or will at least look weird.

Exactly as Lausvi said, I made that mistake buying such an adpater but lucky enough nothing happened when I swapped polarity!

No don't worry. Wink

You sold me the stand without a PSU. I bought the one in the picture! Or rather, used the one suitable I had and never bothered replacing the plug with a fixed one. Embarrassed

Bought the generic adapter, 9V, 1.500 mA, 5,5/2,1 size, + polarity in the middle, outer circle -, works!

Thanks again.
