With the new MBP announced, and I read early this morning that Apple claiming they are the best speakers ever put in to a notebook computer, I was wondering if these were potentially supplied by B&O?
We all know that B&O have supplied audio in Asus laptops before ;-)
Regards
Michael.
They claim that they are better than the speakers in the older generation of MacBook Pros, not the best speakers in the world. I do not think they are supplied from B&O :)
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)
Thanks for the clarification. Was going from the macrumors quoting apple "the best stereo speakers ever put into a desktop or notebook".
Just thought and hoping they may be B&O.
I think they would be marketed in someway then but knowing apple, probably not.

What they say is:
You haven’t heard it all until you’ve heard the speakers inside the all-new MacBook Pro. For something so thin and light, the sound is huge. And with a wide dynamic range, optimal balance, and a crisp, expressive quality, these speakers might sound too good to be true. That’s because we labored painstakingly over the design to maximize the quality of every decibel you hear.
It's FANTASTIC isn't it!!! It's got me thinking how nice it will look placed next to the BeoPlay A8, damn, that now makes the B&O BeoPlay A8 still relatively inexpensive ;)
I'm sure my notebook never sounded that good, so they aren't probably lying, but why do you think this is anything other than regular marketing speak for something that is a little above ordinary? Nothing makes me think these should have anything to do with B&O...
Apple isn't going to show anybody else's brands in their products or marketing.

But didn't promote Harman Kardon with their beautiful G4 Cube at the time? And BOSE with the Anniversary model so maybe...
And check the B&O PLAY FACEBOOK page - They were there at the event yesterday :)
Retina display is good, but I'm not a big fan of the MBP 15". Sadly I'm up in London a lot, so have to drag my laptop with me. Even my 13" MBP gets heavy after lugging it around all day. 15" MBP is more of a desktop replacement you can occasionally take to a client - perhaps in the car.
My next purchase will be a 11" Air. Just need something neat and small that I can take with me on the move, but does more than my iPad.
Yes Moxxie, I agree, 15" no good for me. I use the 13" and I find the size perfect. Let's hope that a 13" version of this will be launched soon.
Note that the new 15 with retina, is (slightly) lighter than the normal 13 inch. And a lot thinner.

I've already noted that myself - but it's still huge and, as I mentioned, even the 13" MBP is weighty after a day lugging it about. 15" MBP isn't something I'll take on the road with me even if it is 25% thinner.
11" Air is the one for the road. Fast enough, large enough for basic stuff, light enough and no need for retina on a portable machine. Cinema Display, which I use all day every day, perhaps!
.........and here we are again for another installment of Apple-hype!
So when the iPhone was released with it's retina display we were told the LCD needed to be greater than 300ppi to beat the naked eye. The iPad was released with 264,............ now we see the macbook with a mere 220. In pointing this out I've had to stand well back to make room for the mass of faithful fighting among themselves to queue up (overnight) to point out that it depends on the viewing distance! Now while that is true in general and means that any plain vanilla LCD is also a "retina" display, I happen to feel that since my hands are attached to my arms which are unfortunately fixed securely to my shoulders, which also manages (just) to support my head,.............. the distance between my head and my hand operated gizmos tends to be the same.
This leads me to claim that Apple are again talking sh*t, which the faithful are happy to swallow wholesale while conveniently forgetting what they were told last year!
If only we could get them to sell tickets to a "let's all be friends" party in the Middle East!
Ban boring signatures!
Puncher: .........and here we are again for another installment of Apple-hype!
Live and let live!
I do find it ironic though that some people on here don't like the Apple "hype", thinking the products are more style over substance, when we're talking about a brand (B&O) which is, arguably, more style over substance - in most people's eyes - than anything else. Encore is a very good example of this. A mini-computer, with a few wheels, that spools audio from another source....for over £3000. Or a BV12 with a Panasonic plasma, priced at....£17,000. And we don't question the value of that £17,000? I can tell you, I do, and there's a lot more value (and processing power) in a MBP with Retina screen for £1700 :)
Very nicely said Moxxey!!! In the past few years, Apple have done more for graphic design, layout, music, video, photography, phones than anyone else so why all the hate from a certain few. Surely it's better to hate Samsung with their plastic, McDonalds style products than a company who produce beautifully made, easy to use, easy to software update and not too expensive (compared to B&O) pieces of art with a human touch. Of course with Apple, you Windows people would still be typing away on ugly biege boxy computers with as much s*x appeal as a ...

Two things, firstly I absolutely agree with you entirely! I do question (quite often) the cost/value of the products you mention and values in general.
Secondly, I laughed when I posted earlier, not because I didn't believe what I'd posted, but becaue it was, in part, an attempt to spark a bit of life into the forum which seems to have died on it's 4rse somewhat in recent times, despite the V1 "blip".
Anyhoo, back to my original point, - "some keystrokes have been omitted, some sequences shortened (and others completely ignored) to make this post seem more desirable to the vulnerable and the weak willed".

.................. none of which I criticised, only the hype-machine that is their marketing department, some of which has been deemed illegal and they've been forced to stop telling outright lies.
Surely it's actually better not to "hate" anyone nor what they buy or where from!!
PhilLondon:Just been to an apple store today, and I was able to see the new baby for the first time so I thought I'd post my impressions. Wasn't aware of this argument going on here... Anyway, the screen is absolutely gorgeous, Extremely crisp as expected. The great thing is that you can actually choose between different scaling, so you can have a Normal scaling where the interface looks like on the old 15 inch display, and then you can push it further where everything becomes smaller but is still very sharp and readable. For me who uses development tools which need many windows open that is great. I currently use a 13inch because of the weight, but I could do with a bigger screen. With this one having the same weight and such an amazing screen, I am likely to get tempted soon!

.......and that's great, a balanced assessment, with a valid reason for which it will be a benefit, without resorting to hyperbole.
