Dear members,

which color do you think looks best on the Beolab 11? I haven't seen the Beolab 11 in the flesh in its various appearances so opinions are much appreciated.

Greetings,

Kai

Thanks for the pictures. From what I could see in the pictures, white, silver and gold would be my favorites but in the flesh it may be different. White and black are not shiny, are they?

Greetings,

Kai

Indeed. The colors look very different in reality than in the picture. White and black are matte, but the other colors are quite shiny. I have blue, red, gold, and dark grey. The dark grey is very nice! In my opinion the dark grey looks classier than the silver. A word of caution: the edges are very sharp and can easily cut your hands! Be careful when changing the covers. I wear cloves to protect my hands.

Of course, I meant to write "I wear gloves to protect my hands." I can no longer get the edit feature to work with the forum when using Safari.

Cloves? I was just about to ask if you were ham handed...Big Smile

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

We also have chrome. We use it in different rooms as I shuffle things quite often.

Given its primary room's decor (duck blue I am told Big Smile) white might have been a better colour.

I would not use matte to describe white - I agree it's not bling shiny - but it is by now means dull matte. I would describe it as having lustre.

I was thinking about chrome or gold but was offered a white example with some marks. From what I've seen in other products, I prefer the shiny surfaces, but white might actually fit my furniture quite well.

I'd pick white as it makes flowers look best.

in my opinion it does the job as a vase far better than that of a subwoofer.

id give it a listen before you pick a colour 😉

The main interest of the polished aluminium BL11 (it's not chrome!) is that it takes the main color of the room, so it's very discrete...

I intend using it with Beolab 3s and have only read good things about the combination...

So you should get the colour that matches the BL3s perhaps

Not a good idea from my point of view. The 3s and the Beocenter one have the black rubber-like surface. I wouldn't want the Beolab 11 in black to be honest. Would be an option but I'm not sure whether this would actually look good. Since surfaces are different anyway, color would never exactly match. My walls are light purple and the furniture is white with some golden items. Silver, gold and white would therefore be my favorites.

Cheers,

Kai

I have the bl3 and Beolab 11 combo.

Love it. Bl3s are very capable but bl11 give that extra "bottom" to the sound.

Have the white bl11 and think, given your description of your room, will look best.

Hiort:
I have the bl3 and Beolab 11 combo.

I should have said that currently that is my configuration (as opposed to supporting the BL6Ks).

Our default BV8-40 setup is for only the centre speaker -- when I am using the system then I activate the BL3s and BL11 combo (SPEAKER 2 or SPEAKER 3) as I appreciate the difference they make (and IMHOO they would be wasted in cooking shows).

For TV events (e.g. GoT) and movies we use SPEAKER 5 which brings into play the BL4s as rears.

Currently very happy, however I am thinking hard about a BL19 so that the BL11 can go back to helping out the BL6Ks that don't get much use these days.
