My system, Beomaster 5000 amp with with TX Turntable and MMC4 cartridge is suddenly making a strange noise in one speaker.  When I play music from a different source, CD player or airtunes from my computer, both speakers sound fine.

Could the strange clicking noise be cartridge failure?  My ground wire from the turntable recently came undone, and when I re-screwed it to the amp - this is when the clicking noise started.  But it seems grounded now because there's no hum.

Grounding, cartridge or something else?  Interested in anyone's thoughts, experience...

Thanks!

Could you make a video of the issue and post a link?

If you swap the speakers around, does the 'clicking' still come from the same speaker as before, or, does the clicking stay with one particular speaker?

How frequent is the clicking?  Is it random, equally spaced clicks, how often?

Dave.

It's not equally spaced, it's random...but frequent.  At low volume, the clicking seems to almost disappear (but you can still hear the music).  I will try switching the speakers...
