Seanie, i replied to this post this morning but it must be MIA.
Would your bl9's deliver the volume and bass you require ? Can wall mounted speakers deliver that amount of bass ?
I would try out the bl11 with the bl12's before taking them down.

Seanie, I'm just wondering aloud here... at some point I recall reading a post about your new music room where you alluded to wanting to be able to have friends dance in the room whilst playing music.
In my past experience, one of the best ways to find out the SPL limits and even risk damage to a conventional (passive) hifi system that doesn't have the sort of overload protection systems built into it that a B&O system has, is to wring the max out of it to try and compete with the sound absorption that a room full of people makes, plus their chatter.
I've seen many a speaker voice coil burnt out due amplifier clipping trying to drive the system loud enough to compete with a room full of people at parties!
Fortunately, not my kit! - I've been asked to loan kit for parties in the past, and have politely refused for the reasons mentioned.
This may or may not relate to your experience, but I relate it, just in case - a room full of people will absorb most of the reflected sound that we hear, and in most situations the reflected (as against direct sound from the speakers) makes up around 60% or more of what we hear. Hence cranking up the volume to try and compensate and running out of max SPL's the systems capable of.
If it's more bass you want, then I'd suggest either the Beolab 11 or 2. The 2 may not have quite the transient attack of the 11 due the passive radiators, (hence comments sometimes read about 'speed' ) but it will play lower and louder than the 11 which is something to consider depending upon your needs.
Really sorry to hear your so disappointed after so much work modelling the room and of course the cost of the speakers.
But I'd say a lab 2 would give you the low down 'thump' that you want for dance music/parties more so than the 11. Any demerits in the transient attack of the 2 are likely to be forgotten after your friends have imbibed a few I would think.

Hi All
After lunch update.
So last night i looked behind my speakers and changed the setting from corner (which according to the ref book it is) to wall
now they go much louder, i play Nikki Manni and once did the protection cut in when it was the reallt Bass part.
So my lunch time experment was a suscess so far. i am going to change the cat6 cable for B&o cat7 at 6pm as my local dealer is going to drop one off for me :)
I def think they need a lab 11 in the future but at least for today i am feeling a little better.
One thing i cannot understand, turning the switch to wall im sure reduced the bass but i have always been told that corner has the least bass???

I definitely think that you should ask your agent to lend you a pair of BL3s just to compare. We are looking to put 2 pairs of BL3s in a new on air studio that we have planned :)
Sean, can I just say this mate (he says diving to take cover and hide)............
I think the mounting is unsuitable, in the sense that the speakers need a solid wall to perform. I discussed this with a franchised Dealer and we both agreed, hope it all works out though.
