I was wondering if anyone has a list of older/smaller TVs with a VGA input.  I need to replace my computer monitor and I thought I'd get something a bit better than the usual cheap rubbish.  I thought the Beocenter 6 looked quite good but I don't think that has the right input [?].  What other 26-30" units would work?

Hi,

the Beocenter looks really good, yes, but its display technology is not up to date!

If you still want to have s.th. with a touch from B&O, what about an ASUS Full-HD monitor with B&O sound:

Without B&O sound there are two brands with high quality reputation:

- EIZO
- NEC

They are using ICE Power amps - as far as I know, B&O was not involved in anything concerning the drivers or the tuning of these!

If the picture quality of a BV/BC6 is too 'bad' for you, just pick a modern monitor with VGA ----- and buy a USB-DAC/soundcard and a pair of e.g. preowned BL4000.

@MM: Yes, as far as I know, too, they're only using the B&O Icepower amps.

@Calvin: If you're good with your hands, you could buy an old Beocenter, buy an appropriate Monitor and put that electronics including the LCD into the Beocenter Chassis. Drive the Beocenter amps from the LCD-Monitor output or some other electronics and than you'll have a great display with B&O sound and design. Guess it may took some work... ;-)

Just check first, if a Resolution of 1.366 x 768 is good enough for you.
I used the BC 6-26 with a Playstation 3 (Component) and a Set-Top-Box (HDMI to DVI).

Never tried it as Monitor.
If you like, I can attach my notebook next week and make some pictures.
Can be attached via DVI (Input on BC) or VGA (VGA to DVI needed), I should have all These Adapters and cables somewhere  ;-)

You still see that in some B&O stores.

I guess it depends on what you want to use the screen for.

I use my BV8-32 as a monitor / "TV" as follows:

- any one of three old WINTEL boxes via the VGA port

- MacBook or DVD/VCR or Apple TV via HDMI / DVI / mini-Display port

Not ideal to replug but it's on a hobby by hobby basis than a task by task basis ...
