Hi Guys,

My luck just seems to get worse, today while watching a video of the Beocord 9000 on youtube I realised that my Beocord had the wrong glass in it...Where its supposed to say REC-CAL it says REC-OPEN and where its supposed to say TAPE-CAL it hasn't got a cut out. Martin confirmed my suspicion that its got a glass from a BC8000 :-(

Has anyone got a spare glass they don't need or a broken BC9000 for spares?

Fingers Crossed!!

Lee

I wouldn't say these are particularly common in the first place let alone finding a spare one for parts with the glass panel!

I do wish you luck in your search though!

Ben

Thanks Ben. Although I'm not sure they are as rare as all that.

I purchased it from TV and Radio Eksperten and Søren claims that this is how he bought it from an elderly gentlemen who couldn't have possibly changed it! I seriously doubt it left the factory like this...

One thing after another :-(

I'm wondering if I could mod the 8000 glass I have to match the 9000 one.

the underside of the 8000 glass has all the cutouts for the extra light.

How is the lettering done?

Thanks Dennis :-)

Soren from Radio & TV Eksperten (the place I got the BC9000 from) has emailed me to say he has got one for me.

I had almost given up hope.

Think I'll have a Gin and Tonic and put on a cassette to celebrate Big Smile

Does he charge you for it then?

But once again this just shows, that if you wait long enough, and have good contacts, you will find the parts you are looking for. I think it was Sonavor who was looking for a pair of frets for one of his pairs of MS150s. Very rare parts as well, as most of them are still coming with a pair of speakers! But if I remember correctly Steffen managed to find him a complete set which he got as spare with a pair of MS150s.

Hmm... I could drink a G&T as well actually... Hmm

Cheers!

No he's going to swap the one on mine for the correct one for free (mine came with a BC8000 glass for some reason).

Go for it.... I'm on my third haha
