Hi there

im just got into the B&O world and have completely fallen in love with the products

My setup includes a new Beosound 3000 with Beolab 8000. I have it connected to my LG tv via the optical cable through a Cambridge audio DAC. I love the sound produced however i cant control the volume output as its through an optical cable.

I was hoping to get a Beo4 remote to do this. I was wondering if the Sky box and tv can be controlled with a beo4 universal remote.

No you need a tv product with a set-top box controller!

Welcome to the forum, and welcome to the world of B&O.

No, not the Beo4. The Beo5 or 6 can be configured as a universal remote, but by your dealer only or a specialist only. Not everything can be done. Maybe you could click on the advert on this page "Beo5 service" and see if they could do that for you. A Beo6 is rather expensive though.

When controlling a B&O TV, you can control a lot of set top boxes with the Beo 4, but the signal is received by the TV and the TV re-emits a signal for the STB. So the Beo4 isn't a universal remote.

You can use a Lintronic box TT 238 as an IR translator. This lets your Beo4 control devices like your LG TV, STB....
