I have just obtained a Humax HD-Fox T2 'Freeview' box to use with a recently acquired BV 7-32 Mk3 TV. I have connected this to 'AV2' using HDMI to DVI for picture, and scart-to-scart connection for sound - all works as I think it should, and the HD picture is actually very good.
However, the problem is that I have to firstly use the Beo4 to turn on TV, then the Humax remote to select the channel, and then back to the Beo4 to alter the volume - which frankly makes the process of watching TV casually a bit of a chore.
Previously the Humax box was connected to a Panasonic TV (via HDMI, admittedly...), and once this TV was switched on the Humax remote could be used to control BOTH the channel AND the volume. I'm presuming the scart connection from the Humax doesn't send a signal 'understandable' to the 7-32 to allow it to alter its volume in the same way...
This chopping and changing between remotes is driving me daft, so my question is: Would connecting the Humax in some other way (i.e. AV3 via phono leads?, SPDIF to A1?...), allow me to control both the sound AND channel with the Humax remote?
By the way, the Humax box is not in my PUC table, although the Humax Foxsat HDR is... but this doesn't work, as I hoped it might! So at the moment I can't use the Beo4 to control the Humax; any comments on whether I can get the PUC table updated for this particular box welcome.
I hope I have explained my problem clearly enough - I'm still quite new to B&O, so forgive me if I'm overlooking something obvious...
Thanks in advance for your help.
Just check the available PUC control and the Humax HD-Fox 2 is listed so there is a compatible file. You would need a B&O store or tech with a ServiceTool to upload the new PUC files to your TV, then all should work fine and dandy.
As for the sound, you should be able to select any AV input for the DVI video feed. AV3 SCART or AV4 phono stereo or one of the 4 digital inputs (A1-4)
BeoVision 11-55, BeoCenter 2, BeoLab 9s, BeoLab 3s, Beo4/5/6, BeoRemote One, BLGW, Transmitter 1, BeoLit 12, A8, H6, H8
I've got a humax HDR connected to a tv via Hdmi (previously using scart) and the volume control on the humax controls the volume to the tv - the tv volume control also works at the same time. So although it's not the same unit I'd have thought they might work the same. I set the tv volume at a low level and control the up and down with the humax remote.
not a very tidy situation but I'm working on getting some sort of universal remote programmed up or maybe one of those clever boxes.
so not an exact answer sorry,

Thanks HardCopy and Dave Hutton for your comments.
Today has been a day of revelation:
Firstly, a big thanks to Nick at B&O Liverpool for his time explaining how best to fit the PUC Controller cable - I had been using it in a 'non-standard manner' (i.e I had fitted it the wrong way round...!): I can now use the Beo4 remote to control my Humax box, just by selecting the nearest Humax box on my PUC List - a great leap forward for me.
Secondly, I had inadvertently connected the scart cable into the VCR connection on the Humax box, instead of the TV one - I can now control the volume using the Beo4 remote as I hoped I could, so problem solved.
The moral for me appears to be; "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing"...
