i have a beo vision 7 that used to be connected to the sky box with what looks like an infrared connector. When I upgraded my box to an HD box this no longer works.  I can now only use the sky remote which is no good in other rooms.  Is this a simple device purchase or will I need an engineer.  Thanks

You may check if your box as a Bluetooth / infrared setting.

You need infrared for the PUC.

Hi

What BeoVision 7 do you own?

If it's a MKIII 7/32 and If the sky box is connected to the TV with DVI/HDMI and scart you will need to enable scart control in the Sky box settings and set the PUC to Pace Sky +

You haven't specified which Sky box you had originally: Sky Digital or Sky+. Neither of these remotes will work properly with Sky+HD. Also note that there are two versions of Sky+HD software available to be installed into the Set Top Box controller of your BeoVision 7.

You need to have a look at the list of boxes available in the set up menu of your set. If Sky+HD (usually listed as Thomson Sky HD) isn't there, you will need somebody to install a new list via the service tool. Not something you can do yourself unless you have access to the B&O service tool.

I looked on the Avant tonight and there are a lot of Sky PUC Codes, if you want me to take a photo of them let me know.

I am using Foxtel Digital Cable and the IQ2 (HD+) box that i originally had was using this PUC. This is the same as the Sky HD / HD+ going from the box and the remote

I recently upgraded to IQ3 which is a different box and a different remote and uses cable and IP. The foxtel remote is bluetooth.

There was an update to the Foxtel Digital Cable PUC and i have havent had any issues using the original PUC with the upgraded box from IQ2 to IQ3. The only issue i had was some lag and turning the box on with my buttons.

I since changed the IR strength to low and this has helped.

Regards

Michael.
