This is my first post, so please be patient with me. I have the Avant 55 TV connected via NL/ML converter and ML Distribution box (3634051). I am able to link my BeoSound 9000 CD player, but not the radio. When I press the radio link the radio connects then says "stopped" All other linked components (Beomaster 5, Spotify, Net radio, Net Music connect and play as they should. It appears there is "conflict" between the FM radio and another source. Is there anyway to link this differently, or change settings on the BeoSound 9000 so the radio will play via NL/ML to the Avant?
So you had a ML tv and traded it for the Avant 55 + NL/ML converter. that's correct?
If true, In the older setup what happened when you gave (I presume the BM5 is NOT set to A.Master)
This probably a setting issue in the NL/ML converter
I certainly understand your frustration. The same challenge occurred with our Beosound 9000 and Beosound 5 when we added an Avant to the system ac couple of months ago. The installers we had here at home who were B&0 trained and had worked on our system numerous times ended up having to phone B&O technical support number. The technician walked them through step by step for almost a half hour to get the cd player and radio to play through the NL/ML convertor. You may try first with the Austin Store that may give you some guidance as my installers did, but they were successful only by talking directly with a B&O technician. Best of luck to you. Let's hope that with future updates with the Moment, Beosound 5 and Deezer that things will run more smoothly for B&O.
Carolpa, thank you for your help! I might not have been very clear my first go around.
I just purchased an Avant TV and the Beolink NL/ML converter (I didn't previously own a B&O TV, or converter of any kind).
Your suggestion did the trick! The Beomaster5 when originally set up (by me) was set to Audio Master. Turning that setting to off allowed the FM radio on the Beosound 9000 and the CD changer to work and be selected on the Avant. Those sources now show up as "linked" on the Avant and have been renamed for easier recall on my part.
To your other question: the Beo4 remote used with the Beomaster5 was set to the following:
Radio=FM radio
CD=6 disc CD Changer
A. Mem=N.Radio, N.Music, & Spotify. I just selected on the Beosound5 screen which of the these three I wanted to listen to.
FYI-N. Radio, N.Music & Spotify all show up on the Avant source list as well, all shown as "linked" with direct access. Side note, the Beosound9000 also shows on it's LED display (it's hanging vertically on the wall) when selected: N.Music, N. Radio, or Spotify.
Thanks again for your help!
Joe
Gary thanks for sharing your thoughts and frustration about B&O and their service. Frustrating for me is I used to get support from Beocare if I called and asked the right questions. This past week, they simply told me sorry, can't help you any longer, you'll have to call or visit the dealer you purchased your equipment from. Two of those stores are out of business and paying a Technician to log 12 hours behind the wheel plus diagnostic time would be difficult for me to swallow. In most cases, problems can be quickly solved over the phone or via this forum. I'm comfortable with troubleshooting, others may not be. It appears Beocare is now dealer only support. I concur with you on the Austin store. They have really been helpful and tried hard where other stores failed or just didn't care. On a positive note, with the closing of the La Jolla, CA store, the owner of the Beverly Hills, CA store reached out via email and invited me to come visit his store. Now there is a class act! On my next business trip to CA, B&O of BH is on my "must do" list.
