Has anyone successfully used any of the Bluetooth mapping programs available for jailbroken iPhones in order to control music function with the Essence remote?

I don't know if it works with the iPhone but it works flawlessly on Android.

Does the iPhone need a Jailbreak for a standard Bluetooth controller?
If this Satechi-Bluetooth-Button works with your iPhone, the Essence remote should too... As far as I remember you hat two Essence remotes. Did you already try to pair it with your iPhone without Jailbreak?

I am able to pair it, but the iPhone doesn't react to the controller at all.

Does your iPhone react properly to the Satechi media button controller?

Yes, it works without problems.

I also tried to pair the ER with my PS4, but there it doesn't even show up in devices when searching.

Oh... does it show any reaction to the remote when you switch your iPhone to Music/iPod?

No, nothing. I guess it is sending its own codes?

I don't know, I thought it uses a standard Bluetooth HID compatible code as it works without any problem on my Sony Xperia Z2 tablet.

I'll try it out on a Windows System and on my Sony NWZ-ZX1, too to see how they react.

It's no wonder that the iPhone is not compatible as I'm used to this behaviour with Apple products... but the Playstation? Or the Playstation doesn't support the required Bluetooth profile.

If you are using spotify connect, are you able to control spotify with the ER?

Please try playing spotify on one device, and use Connect from your Sony. Does the ER change tracks and volume in the first device through the Sony?

I'm not using spotify as I don't get the logic of paying for internetradio in another dress. :)

If there's the possibility of a free account please explain what exactly I should test for you and I'll do it.
