Hello all

I've recently had a couple sets of the Lutron Traithlon shades installed.

The BLGW picked the right up. I simply told the BLGW the integration number of the shades and had instant control.

On screen is nice because you get two way feedback including level so you can set the lights and shades to the same general lighting scheme with the on screen overlay.

While they are expensive, Lutron seems to be the way to go for shades. Very cool.

I, too, have been planning on having Lutron shades installed. How long did it take to get your shades once you ordered them through your dealer? I've found that the lead time on some Lutron products can be very long.

Hi there

How does communication work are these products are individual with IP control or do you have to buy certain things???

Indeed it's a process.

It took about 8 weeks from order to install.

Lutron is a slow company. The shades are totally custom though. So I can live with some delay. Akin to buying custom furniture ... Or some b&o for that matter.

You must have the radiora2 main repeater.

It talks to your BLGW and all of the Lutron products. (Assuming all Lutron products are radiora2 compatible).

You need a Lutron system, such as the RadioRa 2. For the RadioRa 2, you would need to buy the Main Repeater, which can interface with the B&O Gateway by either IP or RS232. I prefer the RS232 connection as it's more stable. The Main Repeater will cost you around $350 USD. Most Lutron installers will require you to have them do the programming using there Lutron software -- unless you happen upon a friendly installer who will provide you with the Windows software program. As was previously mentioned by the original poster, these shades are rather expensive. I was quoted a minimum of $4000 to $6000 for the Lutron shades that I selected, which would be two shades for very large windows in a refurbished factory loft.
