this item is being listed as a Beogram 8002, but the platter on it is from an 8000, and this ebay seller says the cart on the arm is an MMC20EN

I thought all 8002's used the newer MMC1 to 5 series carts, maybe this was a very very early 8002 with the old 8000 arm and platter, but I highly doubt B&O would do such a thing

more likely someone trying to pass off an 8000 as the later more desirable 8002

I asked him for the Type No, but he was not able to give that to me when asked

caveat empor my friends !

Looks like a Beogram 6006 with the lid from a 8002.

yes that would make more sense, as the 6006 came stock with the MMC20 EN cart, good spot on the black keys ( instead of aluminium)

well done Lee :-)

the Beogram 8000 coming stock with the MMC20 CL from memory !

Correct - the 8002 has a completely different arm to the 8000 - the 6006 was a nice deck though.

The 6006 and 8000 are all but identical apart from the black keypad, and it was shipped with a lower spec cartridge. I've always thought of it as a quick bodge to get a TT to match the BM6000 while the 6002 was developed. It was cheaper to buy a 8000 than a 6006 with a MMC20CL.

Peter, I'm having some annoying problems with IGD on my Beogram 6006 and no matter what adjustments I make I can't get it to go away. Is the offer of loaning a soundsmith cartridge still open? I'd like to see how it compares to my 20CL from Axel. If its better I will bite the bullet and order one.

Of course - only using my 3000 at present - one 20CL out on loan but the MMC20EN is certainly available - I am around this weekend I think.
