Seems like Geoff has lifted of the lid on some tech concerning the BeoLab 5 successor

What ever it is ... be careful the beams don't cross

Maybe it's somewhere identical to the IntelliBeam technology from Yamaha which they're using since a few years in their digital sound projector speakers - which sounds amazing by the way!
I've heard one of their 1st speakers with this technology a few years ago, the YSP-1000 and I had to ask twice during the presentation if there really wheren't any additional speakers connected. Big Smile

Probably a much more sophisticated and DSP controlled precise version of the old Bessel array which is used a fair amount in PA and such systems. Using multiple drivers covering the same freq range a Bessel array can create a very narrow and controlled beam even with a large number of drivers, by wiring them in and out of phase in a pattern. Yamaha took this further, as noted, and did a fine job with it.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad
