Nothing to speak of.

Something to do with nest

No real interaction changes.

Sorry to ask, but is there anything that the ML Gateway can do that the BeoLink Gateway can not do?

From the gateway:

Improves Remote Access stability.

  • Adds status events to NetworkLink products.
  • Improves overall stability and corrects several minor errors.
  • Nest driver:
    • Adds support for NEST setups with more than one home.
    • Adds NEST protector support.
    • Adds rush hour support.
    • Reduces status update latency.
  • So a couple of things that look interesting for me, NEST Protect will be interesting. I have these at home so wondering what the integration will provide in terms of functionality.

But more important and will upgrade the software over the weekend (even after my issues with the previous update) is the Adds status events to NetworkLink products. What is this providing? One thing I would really love is for the gateway to detect status of both Network and Master Link products and trigger macros accordingly. I.e. Turning on TV dims the lights and closes the curtains, which sadly is for me annoyingly missing.

the main difference is to control external devices via http custom strings with the mlgw. The blgw has for this a other logic.

But the blgw has a more current software with the possibility to control more external devices out oft he box.

    BS Ouverture, BS 9000, AV 9000, Avant 32 DVD, BV9, BV6-22, BS 5, BS 4500, BS 7000, BC 9500, Beo6, BL Penta, F1000, BLGW, etc....

I updated to the latest version of the firmware for the BLGW and can confirm that the detection of status from NetworkLink products has been included and it an excellent addition to the features of the gateway. It can be used to trigger macros, such has turning on a product, changing source, setting the volume etc... very very useful.
