I'm having a bit of trouble with my system and before bothering my dealer I thought I'd see if anyone on here has a fix for me.
I've had my 7-32 for several years now (I think it's the Mk I version) and it is masterlinked to a Beosound 3200.
Just recently I noticed that the remote control (Beo 4) wasn't always operating the system correctly. In other words it would take several presses to turn the TV on, alter the volume and so on. I changed the batteries thinking they were at fault, but this didn't make any difference.
I then also noticed the same problem with my Sky remote which can also control the TV volume. I know it isn't the Sky remote at fault as it continues to control the Sky box faultlessly.
Any ideas what the problem is? As it isn't a problem with the remote I presume the sensor on the TV is faulty? Where is the sensor located so I can make sure I give it a good clean (though to be honest the whole TV is pretty spotless)? Is this a known problem with a quick fix?
In the meantime I can control the volume using the buttons on the Beosound 3200, but the lack of any on/off switch on the TV itself could mean I have no way of watching the TV!
All help appreciated. Thank you.

or could it be that the master link connection has an issue (loose, scrunched) ?
do you know which audio master and video master OPTIONs the dealer set-up for you ?
are the two masters in the same room - with all the speakers attached to the BV7 ?
not sure where the BV7-32's eye is - I have a suspicion it is top right - try to make a Beo4 range limiter like the dealers have using a left over toilet roll tube and see if you can find the eye and test its efficacy at point blank range
BeoNut since '75
Thanks very much for that help.
I'm not sure about audio/video master settings, but I know that I've had the same system in the same configuration for around 5 years now and have had no previous problems, and not touched the connections at all, so can't see how any cables have come loose? The whole system is in the same room (BS3200 below the BV7-32).
To demonstrate the intermittent nature of the problem, last night I had the remote in its holster on the wall (pointing towards the ceiling not the TV). I pressed the DTV button to switch the TV on and it came on immediately. I then adjusted the volume with no problems. I then removed it from the wall holster and pointed it at the TV and it was unresponsive. I then left it a couple of minutes and pointed it directly at the TV and it worked with no problems (using the Sky remote as well as the Beo 4). Then a few minutes later neither remote worked (apart from the Sky remote controlling the Sky box) and when I tried to turn off the TV it took 5 presses (with a short wait in between each press) before it eventually responded.
There's seems to be no difference as to whether I am pointing it at the TV stood a couple of feet away, or the other side of the room pointing it a the ceiling!
I can't see any other reason other than a faulty sensor, but if anybody does have any more ideas please pass them on!
Yes, I did try that shortly after the problem first manifested itself. I did try again though (leaving the TV off for several hours), but sadly there's no improvement.
from memory I believe the sensor is on the right side of tv and about 4" below where your display shows
