Via the forums, Paul Brouwer (Netherlands) and I had connected a few times over the years, solving mutual issues.
I had scheduled a trip to North America, and had an 11-hour stopover in Amsterdam on the return journey, so we decided to meet.
Paul picked me and my youngest son up at the airport, and we went to spend some hours on the Loosdrechtse lakes near Hilversum (for those of you who remember the - no longer - Radio Netherlands Short-Wave transmissions).
We had a great time on the water - a beautiful day!
Paul on the left, my son on the right.
Of course, there is a beautiful view to suit all tastes, no matter in which direction
On solid ground (wood) for the record, having some light refreshments
Afterwards, we travelled to Breukelen, from which the new Dutch settlers in the 1800's gave its name to their New York neighborhood - Brooklyn.
I prefer the Dutch original
A great day, and a super opportunity to connect in person, with not a cell-phone in sight!!!!
Thanks, Paul!!!

Thank-you. I've often wondered how this apartment building in Brooklyn Heights got its name.
