Today I got my white V1-40 installed on a wall mount in my bedroom and I really love it!

However, I do have two problems.

1) The signal is so strong that my office-tv (avant 32 dvd) turns on/off when using the remote. Is my only option to program the avant to be a link-tv? And how should I proceed?

The avant is linked with masterlink to be used as a speaker for radio/cd in a BeoSound stereo.

2) When using the radio-button on a beo4 in my office with the bedroom-door open my V1 turns on. I have disabled the source RADIO (button - none). It doesnt respond to radio when on. But when off it turns on.

A bit annoying :)

Except for that I have to say the TV is very nice. I love the sound and the looks. The menues (especially the EPG is very nice).

Get an IR reducer for that V1 Beo4. Probably the easiest solution. Did you attach any other speakers?

Do you mean those ugly plastig things they put on top of the remote in the stores so you have to point the remote directly towards the TV? They are hidious and makes it very bad I think.

I did not attatch any speakers. And the Beo4 from the office makes the V1 start, and vice versa.

I think the RADIO response problem was mentioned in one of the other threads - perhaps your only hope is a software update ?

Michael:

your Beo4s must be stronger than mine - or perhaps you have reflecting surfaces ? or perhaps there is direct line of sight between the components in the two different rooms ?

I don't have this issue between our rooms - but we have an old house, soft furnishings, lots of clutter (hundreds of books).

You might have to use the LINK prefix :-(

Please post photographs :-)

And why do you like the menus - I would like to see what they look like with your content - thanks !

Or configure one remote so that it only controls the V1. I've had to do that with my linkroom TVs. The single Beo4 controls most stuff in my apartment, but it would occasionally switch on my BC26 in the kitchen.

Only easy way around that was to give the BC26 it's only dedicated Beo4, configured so it would only control that device. Won't affect anything else, including other audio devices in the same room.

Just configure the Beo4 that ships with the V1 to control the V1.

I always forget. The B&O installer did it the first time and I had to look it up on the internet when I accidentally reset the TV sw a few months ago.

You have to assign the Beo4 to that TV so it only controls that device. Once setup, no need for short range infrared restrictors etc.

I think you have to put it in Option 1:

Press and hold

LIST

Press to access the setup functions.  The Beo4 display reads [OPTION?] - let go of both buttons

GO

Press to access Option-programming

LIST

Press to display: V.OPT (BeoVision) or A.OPT (BeoMaster/BeoSound) or L.OPT (link room products)
then

1

Key in the number of the appropriate Option (e.g. 1)

I have to press both the red power button and the List button at the same time, I then see ADD? on the LCD display, I have to press List a few times to see Option ?

Move ?

Remove ?

Option ?

hit the Go button to select Option, then I get the three choices

V.OPT

L.OPT

A.OPT

this is on a Beo4 with the Sat DVD CD buttons on the second row of the remote

I tried to send a quick answer from my iPhone but as usual the server timed out. It happens from time to time and my message was lost. Thanks all for all possible solutions :)

I am not sure what is the best idea. I am going to try to program it to work for the V1 only. And if possible - have V1 only respond to that remote(it needs a joystick-beo4 anyways).

Now I have to close my door all the time. I have my office right outside my bedroom and rarely close the door so it is annoying :).

I took some quick photos of the installation (which is not done yet).

I talked about the menu system earlier and I will take some pictures of that also when I have time (which I rarely do unfortunately).

I am always busy with something and the little time I can relax I try to relax, so I´m sorry that my answers might be slow sometimes Wink

Probably your link-TV is in V.OPT 4. (used for products in same room)

In this option, the only way the linked product will react on a (default) BEO4 is when "LINK" is added in your LIST-commands, and press the source you want. But the BEO4 can be programmed so that "LINK" is always added, no matter what source you choose.

Out of my head, press and hold St.By and LIST, press LIST till you see CONFIG, press 0 2 2 0 (+ GO not sure). Now if you press RADIO, the Beo4 will send the command LINK + RADIO. If LINK was added and press RADIO, it will send the RADIO-command like a default Beo4. Just the opposite..

But I think the (standalone) V1 products are option 1 only, so reducing the ir is the only way to go here..

Can i ask please, when you were quoted on your BV1 - did you have to pay extra for the remote? (ie were you quoted separately)?

I do see that on the website it says the remote is in the box, but do dealers still quote (charge) extra for it?

Thanks in advance

Hi Michael,

I got the remote included in the price but it was in its own separate box. The box containing the TV only had the TV, instruction manuals for it and the wireless antenna(which was in its own box). The antenna converter (f-socket) and perhaps something else. The Beo4 was supplied in its own usual Beo4-box with batteries. The stand was separate also.

From what I can see in manuals and on the TV it seems that Wireless(WiFi) is not standard but an added module usually. Perhaps they just include it in the first shipping units. On my TVs back it sacs : ACC: Wireless. So I guess that means that it is an accessory also. And the fact that the antenna is in its own box makes this more obvious I think.

I use my TV with Wifi instead of ethernet for now and I think that is how I will continue to use it. It is spec:ed to work with both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz but it can't see my Wireless 5GHz network, just the 2.4 one. I have a separate 5ghz that has the same name but with (space)5Ghz after. Perhaps it just doesnt show it. I would like it to work with both since I want the higher speed than its ethernet port that is just a 100mbit one. I know the stability is probably higher with a cable but the less cables the better.

I put the V1 in V.OPT 1, I was VERY surprised to see that it accepted the option. It blinked red just as a masterlink-tv. This makes me think that the TV might actually be made for masterlink but not having a physical connector.

Now it doesn't turn on when I press RADIO on Beo4 and I am very happy about that :)

The engine will be used for the rest of the range, so you still get some of the usual features.

I understand that but was surprised anyway. Perhaps it could be possible to add Masterlink functionality, I dont know.

I have noticed a few strange glitches in the TV:

• Sometimes the video are interrupted by green screens sometimes completely green, sometimes partly and in some cases with "pixels" from the original video blended with green background. This happens both on the internal DVB and HDMI (Apple TV). Happens about once in every two hours or so.

• Menues are distorted and jumpy. Usually after boot or change of source, havent seen it more than three times and don't recall how I made it happen.

The Beo4 remote is not in the box with the T V but is included in the retail price along with the basic floor stand.

If you don't buy the new Beo4 remote the TV is cheaper. However you need the new version of the Beo4 (type 1710 with the joysick) to navigate the on screen menus.

Hi Michael, thanks for the reply.  Very useful.

Hi Opman,

I was quoted the TV and the Beo4 remote separately.  So they must have just itemised them out.

Thanks

Michael.

The Beo4 is included in the advertised price. But it is possible to buy the TV without the remote OR stand. If you choose to, then the price is lower. Don't know the international prices but here in Denmark we have the following prices:

Beoplay V1 40": 19505 dkr

Beo4: 1795 dkr

Low stand: 699 dkr

Other stands: 1999 dkr

So in Denmark the advertised price is 21999kr which includes the Beo4 and low stand.

Beovision Eclipse gen2 (GX) w/ floorstand, Beolab 14.2, 4 speaker Shape and ATV4/Chromecast.

Beoplay A9mk4 GVA, Beosound 1 GVA, H2, H3, H8, E6, Beoplay EQ

Michael you might love your v1 on the wall but it might be soon be off the wall.  B&O have recalled all wall brackets for the v1 and dealers are being instructed to take them off of display since they are dangerous and presumably prone to failure.  Unbelievable.

Are you kidding? My v1 has the scratches on the paint, I was trying to ignore that. And now the wall stand is dangerous?

All the time and money invested.. Don't really know what to say.
The stand feels very solid and I have had people here to install it and everything, all for nothing.. And no-one from B&O has called me to let me know anything. How do you know about this?

I don't understand what you mean by this. I do believe that if there is a problem, it has to be tended to. But I have yet to hear anything from my dealer or B&O. There is nothing on the B&O or B&O Play websides regarding it either.. I bought my TV from a retailer far away from be because I like them, and then had to transport everything here myself. And I had a service man from a local tv-retailer install my TV-mount.

Since you have all this information, perhaps you could tell us what the problem is with the wall bracket? (I am watching The Aviator right now on my bedroom V1 by the way :) )

You must be aware if you buy a brand new product nowadays, you will have problems, not only with B&O.

I also made the mistake to buy the brand new BV 10-40 at the end of 2009. Since then the HD module has been replaced, the system module has been replaced twice and the software has been updated several times. But until today I still have NOT a tv without problems. I would never do it again!

I have always been an early adopter of all possible products so it is not news to me ;). I don't like how this issue is treated if it really is an issue. I have not heard anything from my retailer or B&O.

I have had alot of tv´s not once having any bigger issues however. Except on one plasma screen that had to be fixed because of a strange logic board issue.

Sorry to hear about your problems with your BV10. How have you been compensated for all the issues?

Michael:

Raeuber:

Regards Michael

Hi Michael,

no compensation at all, but my dealer tries everything to make me satisfied. After the last replacement of the system module I have issues with my masterlink setup. The faulty system module was Mk I, the new system module is Mk II. My dealer is in contact with B&O, but no solution since three month!

No I am not a franchised Dealer - i feel some sympathy for them too, since the Dealers have to bear the cost of going out and taking the brackets off of the wall.

Just don't place it on the wall.  Looks a bit silly now.

My V1 still hangs on the wall, and I have yet to understand what the problem is. Will it fall down? Don't know what to do.

I can't say that V1 is maximum flexiblity. But it is unique at least.
