Before you put this cap on you need to know the exact position where the IR blaster is working correctly. Then you lay the IR blaster into the STB cap and put it on this location. I use it e.g. on an Apple TV.
To come back to your initial question: All B&O IR blasters come with a little double-sided tape attached to the front. If it is not sticky enough anymore and you don't want to use another method for attaching you could try to replace this adhesive. It should be something like this: http://www.digikey.de/product-detail/en/12X12-6-467MP/3M9726-ND/2649271It is called "adhesive transfer tape" and is basically the same that holds your smartphones touchscreen in place. Transparent and without a carrier layer.
