Hi,
I have recently bought a beocord 5000 tape deck which seems to be running very hot for a tape player. The top of the case is quite warm to hot at the back. Is this normal for these units or does anyone know of a known fault.The player works well, but it does smell as if it is running overly hot.

If it's the older Beocord 5000 (type 4705/4715) that is quite normal.
