Hi all,
i have just got myself a synology ds215 j and have copied all the music there
when i used the beomaster 5 all the covers where in very good quality
now they are all blurry
does anyone have a good suggestion what i can do to change it
cheers
Michael
Seems that the Sonology sends the coverpics as thumbnails.
Look for a setting in the mediaserver (that you are using), that enables the 'big' covers/disables the thumbnails.
Must be there somewhere.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks alot for the reply
i will try to take a look to see if i can find it
Hi All,
i have this Synology ds215J both B&O and synology tells me the problem is the DLNA standard on the artwork 160X160 does anyone have a work around so i can use my nas with covers in highest quality
i have also tried to ask B&O about getting a 2 TB hd in my beomaster 5 i can see it can be done
that could also be the solution so i could get rid of the NAS Server
but how difficult is it to change the harddrive in beomaster 5
Cheers
I have a qnap 451 and it works Perfect!
Covers 600x600 no problems at all.
It works even better then the harddisc in the beomaster5
Hi Koning,
Thanks alot for your reply.
i have been reading that Qnap works i just need a 2 bay can you recommend me a QNAP that works
i have covers in 1500X1500 dont know if beomaster supports that
I recommend the qnap ts-251.
Covers 1500x1500 i don't know if that's gonna work,i use 500x500 and 600x600.
But i can try this for you
600x600 should be fine.
1500x1500 is pretty much data, that has to be shoveled around - the covers are fetched each time you listen to a new title (even if it is the same cover as before).
That is the reason, why most NAS's/servers downsize the covers before transfering them.
P.S. The resolution of the BS5 screen is 1024x768.
just a quick question do you have to install some 3rd party package on the Qnap or can i just use the apps
that comes with the QNAP
All apps comes with the Qnap
Excellent
Thanks alot
i Bought a QNAP TS-251 i have around 1.3 TB Music All flac files
i installed the Twonky that B&O recommends but first i added the whole directory with music and that was absolutely no succes
so i tried to add like 10 directory and then i did a rescan and so on,but around 17000 files the covers where not added and when i try to play an album
the beomaster 5 reboots and some of the covers that were not there was now there but some of those that was there is now gone.
does anyone have any idea what can be wrong (i have deactivated mots)
i have also send a mail to B&O supports but is curious if anyone have had the same problem
Remove the covertag with mp3tag.
Convert flacfiles to wave with dbpoweramp.
Then convert it to flac again and now you must tag the cover again with mp3tag.
ouch that sounds like a pretty time consuming thing to do
what i dont understand is the covers works perfectly on the beomaster on the internal HD
i have installed the MP3tag program and added the directory but it says only 1409 files and i have around 44000 files
i have added the subdirectories
i have removed the tags and is now trying to convert to wave but i have 5 years old macbook so i guess it will take quite some time
I had the same problems with the coverart.

"convert-jpeg.desc" and "jpeg-scale.desc from ...../TwonkyServer/cgi-bin (at least in Windows). Covers are shown as tagged thereafter. To high resolutions are not displayed (experience); but up to 1000*1000 work without problem (experience)
The principle for Mac / Linux (so also NAS) is the same. (Already changed it on Linux machines and Netgear Nas)
Or
open jpeg-scale.desc with a text editor and change:
replace $targetwidth with 600
replace $targetheight with 600
Save the file, thereafter the resolution will be 600*600
can you tell me where to find jpeg-scale.desc i have the qnap-ts-251 nas
michael
It is located somewhere in a simular directory as the one below I presume (older Twonky on an older Netgear Nas)
/usr/local/TwonkyVision/cgi-bin
just search for the "cgi-bin" directory
With the program Tag&Rename you can make the cover smaller without conversion!
