I have my original Beomaster and Beogram 6000 units bought in the 70's. They are both in need of overhaul. As a retirement project I bought another Beomaster 6000 though eBay with the intention of a repair and spares project. I also have a Beocord 5000 deck to go with the above again in need of overhaul.

A change in domestic circumstances means I have no time to even consider commencing this project.

I have no idea what value these units may have to somebody doing a restoration project but it would be a shame to bin these items as I clear out the cupboards of redundant technology...

I also have a spare MMC 6000 4-channel cartridge as well as the Beomaster 6000 Commander. Full documentation includes schematics etc.

Can I sell these on Beoworld? Does anyone want this stuff? It still looks good!

Value depends of a number of things but most physical condition with vintage B&O. The Beomaster 6000 is not particularly easy to repair and some people won't really go near them. The Beocord 5000 is not often very reliable either!

Having said that these pieces are desirable and people will want them!

Where are you located?

Lovely items - collectors love them. the Beocord is wonderful but always bites but you have to have one to make the collection complete. I suppose it depends on cosmetic condition. The electronics in the Beomaster are not that complicated but getting trim parts would be tricky. The Beogram 6000 is worth a lot - it can be used with all the modern systems as it has a built in RIAA. I would expect £400+ if in good condition and working. I would love an MMC6000 again - not had one since my mother in law lost mine. They are rather fragile though! I do have a working Beomaster 6000 if you wanted one that actually worked! Fixed by Tim Jarman some years ago.

To get the best price, put them on eBay - I would probably list the BC5000 with the BM6000 but list the Beogram separately. You need good pictures and spell everything correctly!!

Thanks Ben and Peter for the input. Much appreciated. Not sure if I've got the time or wherewithal for eBay as I do need to get this stuff cleared.

Thanks again

For clarification purposes, here is a list of the kit available and a brief description should anyone be interested.

I have the following BEO 6000 times for sale or disposal:

1 x Beomaster 6000 Quad tuner/amplifier. My original unit bought in the 70's In need of a little cosmetic attention and an electro mechanical overhaul.

1 x Beomaster 6000 as above. Bought off eBay as a spare or repair for the above. In very good cosmetic condition.

1 x Beogram 6000 turntable with tangential tracking arm and MMC cartridge pickup. My original unit In need of a mechanical service to the damper that lowers the arm.

1 x spare MMC 6000 pickup cartridge with Pramanik diamond stylus in original box

1 x Beocord 5000 cassette deck bought off eBay to make up a complete matching set. Never used by me.

1 x Beo Commander remote control for the deck and tuner amp above.

As a piece of design this system stills looks very good. This was going to be a retirement project but downsizing and a permanent move to Spain means I no longer have the space to display this lovely kit.

Thanks for your interest

You need to put an asking price on each item and you may well get some replies - I confess I would be interested in the MMC6000 for sentimental reasons - the problem being the suspension which may well be hard.

Good - don't sell the BG6000 cheaply - these are very sought after!

Hi Connem. Is any of the Beomaster 6000 quad still available? I'm doing regular restoring of these units (done 5 so far) and are in need of some spare parts. If you have an non working one, I may be interested. Thanks. Alain
