My Beomaster 5 was just returned to me yesterday. The mother board was totally replaced at a hefty price, and is now working flawlessly except for two features:

1) the screen on the Beosound 5 seems much darker than before and the print is no longer a crisp white but a dim yellow.

2) More frustrating is the fact that the Beoconnect App on my Mac will not connect (message: "check ip address, computer name, password, network connection") with the Beomaster 5 which means I cannot transfer music to the Beomaster. In the NETWORK INFO on the BS5 screen "yes" is indicated for an internet connection. Could someone please give me some guidance to correct these issues before I phone the Chicago Store which I would rather not do.

Thank you sincerely for any support,

Checkler

Wow! For once I found the answer to my issue on my own. From the B&O customer service website:

When you want to transfer files to BeoMaster 5 or BeoSound 5, connection may fail if, for example, your network has been reset. A dialogue box appears asking you to enter the IP-address of BeoMaster 5 or BeoSound 5.

BeoMaster 5 IP-address
To see the IP-address of BeoMaster 5, switch on BeoMaster 5, bring up the menu overlay on the television screen. Press the menu button on the remote control and press ‘9’ to open the CONFIGURATION menu. Press the red button on the remote control immediately followed by GO to open the customer service settings NETWORK INFO and PRODUCT INFO. Use the arrow buttons to move to NETWORK INFO and press GO. You can then see the IP-address of your BeoMaster 5. Now enter the IP-address in the BeoPlayer/BeoConnect menu and connection can be established.

BeoSound 5 IP-address
To see the IP-address of BeoSound 5, switch on BeoSound 5, move the lever to MODE, use the wheel to highlight SETTINGS, press the right arrow button twice, immediately followed by GO to activate the customer service settings. Move the lever to NETWORK INFO. You can then see the IP-address of your BeoSound 5. Now enter the IP-address in the BeoPlayer/BeoConnect menu and connection can be established.

Hi Gary!

Me too I have mostly no connection via BeoConnect running on my MacBook Pro from 2012; with the old one from 2008 it worked flawless - but maybe it also depends on software (OS X).
I downloaded "LanScan" to get the correct IP of the Beomaster 5; once - there was no connection at all - I copied the music files via "finder";
It is a little bit frustrating and I can imagine that most of the B&O Users do not have the ability to check how to get it working...

Also the newer versions of iTunes (since some years) do not help either - I experienced more problems.

But overall I would not miss my BS5/BM5.

Best regards

Elmar

Did you re-enter the Client password in the BS5?

choose MODE, >< >< GO; select Service Settings and press GO; go to Network Settings and add your password. Don't forget (to store) it.

Now you need this password to reconnect BeoConnect .
