There is a good video on YouTube entitled.......beosound 1 demo and grill removal

about 3 minutes long, worth a watch if only for the warning on it about scratches

It slides straight up about one inch, then pulls straight forward from the unit. Grasp the grill on both sides to slide it up. It may help to have another person hold the main unit down if it is not sliding easily.

The easiest way to remove the grill is to lay the unit flat on its back and with the CD mech end facing towards you place it against your knees and slide the grill up from the bottom. To re-fit, simply spin it around and do the opposite. It's a two second job, not worthy of a 3 minute video on You Tube Smile

Wow! That seems like a long time ago!

I got a car bodyshop to re-paint it. It came up great in a Skoda metallic blue.

And thank you for reminding me to ask for it back from someone I lent it to months ago!

Cheers

Did you remove the black cloth on the back of the speaker grill before repainting it ?
If so, how do you remove it ?
