"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
Hi Leo....
How do you suppose to send the Spotify stream to the iPad in the A3?
I am not aware of any iOS app, that can work as a Spotify Connect receiver.
There is a tv - and there is a BV
I am not quite sure of a yes.
I'd have to try it out.
But for that I'll have to take my A3 with me next time I pay my son a visit (he has the Gramofon).
MM
Oups - forgot that!
I'll try that later today.
@Leo...
So...
The volume buttons up/down on the A3 has no effect on the volume output from the Spotify client on my Mac, when this is used as a Connect receiver.
But...
This is so in my setup - I use a small USB-DAC with a pre-pro to control the volumen of the connected active speakers. It may be different, if you just use the internal volumen control of the Mac OS (and the internal speakers/headphone output).
With the Gramofon it probably will be the same - your Gramofon is (probably) connected to a pre-pro (a B&O master or alike). In this case the Gramofon must also output the sound at a fixed level.
Sorry - that I can't give you a definitive answer. As I wrote - this would have to wait, untill I am at my son's place again.
Please do post your results - if you manage to test it somehow.
I must admit, that I did wonder, why you wanted to use the A3 as 'a cover'.
The unit itself is actually quite fantastic.
I don't find the 'plastic' horrible - maybe because mine is black.
Amazing sound for this size.
If you have an old (spare) iPad, and you can get one of these (in black) at a good (!) price, go for it.
P.S. I would never buy a red one - no matter how cheap it was 🙀
