Hi, just bought an A9 speaker, but I am quite annoyed that every time it wakes up using the line-in it is at volume setting 60. Is there a way to change the default setting to 80, so that I dont have to open the app and adjust the volume every time I use the speaker?

Yes, you can do that in BeoSetup app, under Sound (set default sound level).

Hi and welcome to Beoworld.

You can change the sensivity of the Line-in connection in the Settings using the BeoSetup app.

I have tried to set the sensitivity to both high and low and changed the default volume to "user defined: 80". But still every time the line-in wakes the A9 it is set to 55-60 (hard to tell cause the number does show until I start moving the control wheel). FYI I am using a Sonos connect to provide the line-in feed. Don't know if that changes anything...

Is the Sonos set to a fixed line output?

No it is set to variable so I can use the Sonos app to control the volume.

Then you have two variable volume controls - not the best.

Is this the only way, that you use the A9?

pretty much. Is there a way to set the A9 to volume:80 constantly?

Not that I know of!

You can set a max level, but that is something different.

I guess 'the makers' did not think of that user case.

Oh wait - is your A9 a 1. Generation model?

In that case, it might (?) be possible to set a start volumen using a Beo4 (and the Sound Store command).

I am not able to test that myself - maybe someone else could.

Otherweise - contact BeoCare via the B&O website for this information.

Okay now I understand. :)))

My A9 has the same problem, whatever I set as a default sound level (tried with custom:70 and LOUD) it always starts at the level of 55 or so, just like yours.

On top, in new Beosound app volume wheele does not display volume level in numbers anymore. :)

Since here are some A9 volume experts, I would like to add my similar question here.

I have an A9 2nd generation. In the setup (web interface or app), I can set the standard default volume. I have to set this at level 50 which is very high (number).

I have also an A6 and a M5. On these two devices I set default volume to 25-35 and I have the feeling, that is almost the same as 50 on the A9. But the A9 is the most expensive and therefore I think it should be a lower number. Now I'm curious if the A9 is dead/faulty? On the BeoVision Avant 55 NG I have default volume at 32. My 20 years B&O experience tell me, that default at around 35 is ok on the devices.

What is you experience? Do you also have to set a higher number on the A9.

Of course, this is very individual - but compare with other B&O devices.
