ARCHIVED FORUM -- March 2012 to February 2022READ ONLY FORUM
This is the second Archived Forum which was active between 1st March 2012 and 23rd February 2022
Just had a perfectly normal posting held-up for moderation.
Now, on reviewing my earlier postings, I find several no longer available, either removed individually or as part of a removed thread. The last one was in the thread promoting the Devialet where I had observed that the promotion of this product seemed to be pushing the forum boundaries. What was wrong with that???

It's all automatic. I have no idea why it went there, but it may have something to do with the big image size of your avatar, or it being an external link. I don't know any details, but the automatic moderation system probably gives points to various formatting and content details, and if the sum of the points goes over a certain limit, off to the queue it goes.

I deleted the OP's post (three or so times!) because it was obviously against the most basic of the forum rules - no sales nor wanted ads outside the dedicated subforums. I also chose to delete the children of that post (yours) - would you have rather had an orphan post dangling there? Nobody coming to read the thread after the fact would've understood what you were talking about.
All the moderation operations are just as painfully slow as posting ops in general. It's not too much fun to spend your precious free time clicking, waiting, clicking, waiting, then coming back explaining the clicks, especially if you're on a tablet or phone.

Thanks Mika,
But the whole thread seems to be still there (minus my particular post): multiple threads almost identical?????

...and minus some other posts. As you can see at the start of the thread, I questioned it from the beginning. After Dillen moved it to the lifestyle subforum (and I deleted the most blatant personal ads), it is sort of OK. It is still lacking the OP's input on why it should be here, though...
