Hi everyone,
I just bought a Beomaster 3000, a pair of Beovox 3000 speakers and a Beogram 1800 (which is apparently a rare item). I'm having some issues with the BM however (and the BG as well but I'll post that in another topic).
The amplifier's output is clearly not OK, I tested with my pair of freshly revised BV2600's which are surely working fine on my BM1000 so the problem is in the amp. When playing music through any input, there is a lot of noise mixed with the music and the music is gone every few seconds but the noise is staying. I don't really have an idea where to start with this problem.
Second problem is probably easier, the balance slider is detached from the internal mechanism but I can still move it with a key or something in between the front cover and the housing. Can I take the front cover off easy to fix this or is this going to be a bit more painful?
Thanks for your replies already!
Laurent
I had some time to do more testing today, it seems that there is a constant tone and some other noise mostly when pushing buttons or changing something else on the BM.
I made a quick video for you to hear what's actually happening.

Sounds like an amplifier just on the edge of going into self-oscillation.Replace electrolytic capacitors.
The disconnected balance slider will be a broken tap on either the white'ish nylon backing piece or the potentiometer itself (or both).I can supply both as good used parts if needed.
With the top cover off, you can losen four screws holding the upper front metal dial from inside and inspect.

Thank you Martin. Can you also provide the needed capacitors? Or should I measure them and only change bad ones? There's no harm in replacing all of them I guess...
I can indeed see that the white backing piece has broken off. The potentiometer should be fine as I can still change the balance by moving what's left of the backing piece with a screwdriver.
I've found some time to open up the BM. Should I be OK if I replace these 3 big ones...
...and this blue one?
Also, the white plastic thing for the FM tuner broke off apparently, do you have that in stock as well? I did not know this yet because there was not yet an antenna connected on the BM when testing it shortly yesterday.
And on a sidenote, I found the production date
