Hello Co-members,

i bet that this question has already been asked, but I wasn't able to localize it - I'd appreciate any link or hint to another thread.

I use a Beosound 2300 with a pair of Beolab Penta 1 and need to use my phone as sound input, since many songs aren't available as CD. When I use the AUX input with a "DIN to Jack" adapter cable the sound is much quieter than when using the CD or radio player ( average listening setting 68 for CD - same song with lossless codec on iPhone 4S about 78)

Do you have any suggestions for me, so I don't have to crank the volume so high ?

I will try using my Computer that has a Soundblaster Z soundcard as soon as possible, because the iPhone's "pre-amp" might be weak and the issue. I will update the thread asap

All mobile phones are designed to feed headphones and the required audio level is lower than the nominal 1/2 volt required for modern audio amps, you will need a preamp between the phone output and the Beosound input with a gain of about 10x to increase the level.

Also why it is suggested to put mobile device volume on maximum when connecting to AUX in.

Dave.
