Hi all, I'm very new to B&O. I have just purchased a Beogram 1001 type 5101 it is in excellent cosmetic condition apart from some surface rust on the tone arm balance weight. However it does have a 2 common problems with it. I have only  just started it up and found it takes a while to get to speed and it also has a speed selection problem. When looking through the the www I have noticed that it should have a SP14 stylus and it has a SP6 stylus fitted. Would this cause a problem? I have also tried to find a service manual for the turntable and can't find one on the Web.  Is there a site where I can download one from? Thanks for any help!

The SP6 cartridge is no problem, a manual you can find here on the site, if you update your membership to Silver member, the speed problem is probably cleaning and lubrication, and the belt may be worn (old) look here

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
