Hi all, previously posted about this but some time ago now - thought I'd have another fish! I'm after the DSM module that fits the Beovision 6 series of sets (and apparently also the beovision 3). The part number is 8000910 labeled pcb32 in the service manual. The part is discontinued apparently so I was wondering if anyone has either a spare knocking about, or has a donor set they might consider pulling it out of. Willing to pay a reasonable price for it; I'm after a digital audio input which is on the board along with the usual power links for the accessory speakers.

many thanks

Luke

Hi Luke,

I dont have a spare surround module that I can offer you unfortunately, but in order to widen your search it might help you to know that the surround module from the BV7-32 is the same, except that it does not have the coax connector for the digital audio input soldered onto the board but this can be added if you're handy with a soldering iron. I've done exactly this on both my BV6-26 and my BC6-26 (The BV7 version also has an extra powerlink DIN socket soldered to the PCB for centre output which is obviously not required for the BV6 as it has built in speakers)

Kind Regards,

Martin.

Thanks for your kind advice Martin - I'm pretty happy with a soldering iron so that is really helpful.

Hi Martin, do you have any idea if the BV7-40 DSM would fit? Like the 32" version I would have to solder a couple of coax connectors on. The part number for the DSM is B6143052. There's one on eBay at the moment and I'm considering it... Many thanks, Luke

Hi Luke,

I'm not sure although it does look the same, but your question prompted me to check my boxes of parts as I saved some parts from a 7-40 mk1 with chassis failure a while ago and sure enough I have one of these (same part number as above).

One thing I've remembered since I suggested to 7-32 DSM is that of the internal inputs, only the DVD is populated on the BV7 version, whereas it looks from the BV6 service manual that the BV6 version of the module would have the connector 'P410' populated instead - presumably for connection to the DVB module. Neither of my BV6s had a DVB module and I use an external satellite box anyway, but this might be an issue for you?

I don't think it would be a case of just populating that connector as there seem to be other components missing around it.

Please don't buy the one on ebay though - I'd hate for you to spend that much and then discover it doesn't work (and it looks like it doesn't have the ribbon cable that you would need in order to connect it). You are welcome to have the one I have here for free - just PM me your address and I'll pop it in the post to you. Hopefully then you'll just need to solder on the phono sockets (or a short length of cable with phono sockets on the end which is what I did as I didn't have any suitable PCB mount sockets).

Kind Regards,

Martin.
