Well that was a surprize! No rumours of it here and just this second launched on their Instagram.

Just wait a couple months and they'll probably be half price in Costco.

Not sure on the design, need to see it in person, but like the idea of interchange covers, and love the fact that is multiroom compatable.

What a surprise!

This is so nice, and with multiroom, way to go Beoplay.

The web page looks beautiful though.

Maybe they'll market this at the interior design magazines like Elle Decoration and Living etc. Maybe it should be sold in expensive interior shops - I guess I can see the marketing behind that! In a way, this with its fabric could be aimed at the female bijou flat owning city professional. Although from what i've been reading, they are going crazy for everything in rose gold right now :)

Looks as though it may be available is smaller sizes in time like the BOSE, Pioneer and SONOS offerings for a true multi room set up.

Looks like the A8 and David Lewis's designs are well and truly retired now. Sad in a way as that's the true DNA gone.

Need to see this in the flesh I think. But a (female) friend of mine who is an interior designer has just text me lots of smiles about this.

Not seen anything else like it. Pushing boundaries is good for B&O. Agree with Paul W re possible target audience.

Must move with the times - I guess. I hope it does well and I also hope it looks better in real life but at the moment, to me, it looks like an office chair backrest.

No doubt it will be weight heavy but plastic and fabric doesn't provide visual stimulation to me. I'm too old school, i want automated wizardry and visual wow but digital has put a stop to that.

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

The more I look at the web page the more I believe this product is fairly and squarely aimed at a female audience.

Agreed about this being a modern take on the Beosound 1. I think B&O have a winner here. Especially for those who don't have the room for an A9, this is an elegant solution. I'd have loved to see a few aluminum touches here and there, though. The fact that this has multiroom capability at it's price point is very enticing.

I think that the elegant classy lady in the H8 page would own one in her vintage apartment. She'd caress the soft touch volume panel before whizzing off in her pearly white Fiat 500 to pick up Norwegian VOSS bottled water. In the glass bottle, of course :)

The video on YouTube is beautifully art directed and as I mentioned, the web page looks fantastic. Probably one of the best websites around.

How do you all think this stacks up musically to the A8? I'm thinking about selling mine for this!

It looks a nice bit of kit, but it's another of what we already have. It would be nice to get something that looks "b&o"

It's all blending into this " a couple of months and I will change" ... Ikea syndrome , which is fine for some .

But to me , when you bought b&o ...... People would know it was b&o.... This could be any manufactured speaker .. Which ain't looking like it should cost $1000Sad.......

Beovision 7 40 mk 5 ,beovision 6x3,   beosound 3000, beogram 3300 , 2 x lc2, 2 x beocom 1401, beocom 6000 x 2,  5 x beo4,

, 4 x beolab 4's, form 2, h2, a2,a1 and a beolab 2 😀😀

I like this a lot. It is easier to integrate than an A9 visually.

I don't get why people are complaining about Beoplay products lacking aluminium or Bang & Olufsen design. Of course it doesn't look like Bang&Olufsen products, its a different brand with a different audience. Expecting Beoplay to be cheap version of the Bang&Olufsen products is naive. That would be a terrible buisiness plan.

Beoplay products shouldn't look like Bang&Olufsen products but sound and function like a scaled down version of them. Beoplay does this brilliantly at the moment. The multiroom gives the user a taste of the real Bang&Olufsen products, and the design and build quality should inspire the Beoplay customer to go look at Bang&Olufsen.

I have said this before, but it is very important for Beoplay to offer a scaled down Bang&Olufsen TV, just like the V1. The design of the V1 might have divided people too much with it's design, but the functionality is superb, and does a very good job at showcasing B&Os forces and strengths. It's a sure way of convincing people to buy a true Bang&Olufsen TV, and with that comes the speakers etc.

Beovision Eclipse gen2 (GX) w/ floorstand, Beolab 14.2, 4 speaker Shape and ATV4/Chromecast.

Beoplay A9mk4 GVA, Beosound 1 GVA, H2, H3, H8, E6, Beoplay EQ

I think interior designers are going to love it. Seems like it will blend in anywhere, not in your face. I'm glad that it is not full of aluminium etc....shows the real distinction between B&O Play and proper B&O. I think it will be a winner!

This is great because my wifi at home is spotty and causes my A8 to fall in and out of AirPlay, which is really annoying. I've been wanting a bluetooth capable BeoPlay product and was debating the A9, which is out of my budget. The A6 should do the trick!

Additionally, I don't know much when it comes to tech specs, can someone help me compare the A6 to what I currently own, the A8? Thank you!

I'm willing to bet money the lone comment on the Engadget site as of now is from the same guy who is on this forum pushing Devialet......... it's to ironic not to be.

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

Tech specs on Beoplay site look a bit contradicting? Among streaming features there is AirPlay, but no WIFI listed in "Connections".

Also Deezer not explicitely mentioned (neither is TuneIn btw), now how do you "multiroom" A6 then?

As for the looks: will need to see it live.

I want one! Never felt so much need for a new B&O as for this. Just have to find a place for it as I already have ML in all rooms, incl. laundry room.

This will be a big seller, reaching out to a new market.

The circular metal B&O label is just fine; a friend was recently admiring our Beolit and correctly identified it as "typical understated Bang and Olufsen"
