Yes it will be very interesting to see the floor stand.  As far as I'm aware the only floor stand for the A8 was from STB Brackets.

And now back OT:

Like few people said before, now both Deezer/TuneIn and 802.11b/g/n are listed and I started dreaming whether my bedroom needs one A6?

Still curious how the floor stand is going to look like - maybe some aluminium will be used there to also satisfy fans of "moe traditional" B&O design?

The floor stand is a low stand similar to the BeoLab 17 floor base option. In the US we would consider this a table stand option. Smile

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

Looks like I'm ready for the A6 LOL.

Just be sure you don't put the A6 on the chair, and sit on it not noticing it is there. :-)

If you did Sal it might be mistaken as lumbar support :-)

But seriously though - that chair looks sooooo comfy!

At the end of the day, all that matters is the sound. And I think B&O products have gotten better in that department as products have evolved. I'm sure the A6 will sound fantastic. And how many audio products have fabric as one of their main attractions or design points? I can't think of many. I see great things for this one.

It may sound nice - I don't know yet as I haven't heard it but I will not be making a trip to my nearest B&O dealer for a demo as I think it's absolutely hideous!

The fabric with bits hanging off it look like an old wool jumper and it looks like it's got a zipper running across the middle of it.  Looks like a muppet toy rather than a serious bit of B&O styled Hi-fi.

I'd be interested to see the sales figures for this after 6 - 12 months.  I predict a short production run as it's way overpriced for what it is in my view.

Dave.

They should have made a A9 compact. Something smaller, less of a 'young/fresh/odd' design as the A6. Maybe something that can couple with a second for wider stereo seperation. Also think that the A6 does bad on camera, the shape is interresting and B&O never had perfect product shots. (Look at the BL12 pictures on wall)

Can't wait for a second edition to the A8. They prob don't make one as they want a better 'physical' interaction like swiping, say petting the product than de A8 can provide with her buttons.

I've been out from BeoWorld for a while. Had forgotten the hilarious reactions to coming products just based on a photo. Please hold the heavy artillery until you've seen it and heard it in real life.

Haven't made up my mind yet, will wait to see/hear it in person first. The only reason I would consider it tbh is for Multi Room, having an A8 which is sadly not Multi Room compatible Indifferent (I like A8's design better though so I'm not sure I would replace it still)

Hi,

was at IFA today.

When I saw the A6 for the first time on the BeoPlay page I must admit that I liked the design.

After seeing it in real live I have to say that it looks and feels cheap. Especially the backside. Definitively not a BS1 successor when it comes to quality. Even not on BS8/A8 level.
Sound output is comparable with an A8 but it was very loud there...

I really cannot understand why buying an A6 when there is e.g. a Sonos Play 5 for the half price, same sound quality and better overall quality.

Vifa was also there. I think somebody mentioned it here before. Much nicer built quality and good sound...

they obviously had no problems with the cost-reductions of the leather strap and the perforated aluminium grille from Beolit 12 to Beolit 15,which is a shame. I assumed the materials on the A6 would be good in reality and look forward to seeing it in the shop.

Thank you for the report. How does it compare (quality wise) with the actual Beoplay audio products (Beolit 15 or A2 or A9)? Does it feel cheaper built?

Was the A3 at the IFA?

Well, it definitively feels cheaper than an A8 (I think the A6 will be the replacement for it). The front is okay but never ever look around the corner. It starts with the cheap white frame and if you go further around you will see the ugly perforated plastic backside. In my opinion the backside is not that much far away from Playmaker. BL15 and A2 feels and looks better.

I really don't get the point here...

  • If they want BeoPlay to become the new Sonos they either need a better price OR better quality. Both seams to be impossible for them.
  • If they want to have its existing B&O customers to buy NL link components at a higher price they need devices that matches current BV or BS products.

No A3 at IFA...

Sad Very disappointing ...

I like the design (for me I see it like a mix between a BS1 and a Century), but if the perceived quality is cheap, I'll never buy it.

I like it also.  Unfortunately the B&O store in Chicago closed.  I may have to buy it on Beoplay and send it back if I don't like it.  I hope B&O is not planning to leave North America.

Not a good sign when the dealer in an area the size and wealth of Chicago packs it in. I wonder sometimes how my nearest, not so near dealer survives when I see how few people are ever in the shop. And he's the only dealer in my state.

I believe the Chicago store was part of a group of B and O stores.  It is my understanding from emails I received that they have changed the nature of the stores.

Also, I received and email from B and O that mentioned this location in the Chicago area. It appears it is, or will be, a new B and O dealer in the Chicago area.

The user guides are now online on the B&O website -> Costumer Service.

A lot to set up, but that shows how much we can do with this device.

But the configuration is pretty straight forwards.

Rather harsh it is a highly inspired design, almost as good looking and useful as;

I agree with Beojeff.  The State Street store was not so great.  They did do installations themselves but repairs were sent out.  Abt is the best but many times the people that know about B&O are not there.  It is an amazing store but is part of a larger store which is in the suburbs.  I blame B&O North America.  I am a registered user and am on their list.  I just recently received the new catalog.  All they had to do was send an email and tell people what is happening and that there will be a new arrangement soon.  Chicago is the third largest city in the US.  It is just hard to imagine there will be no B&O store downtown.  There is a new Apple store planned to be built on Michigan ave which will be huge like the Cube in New York.

I was planning on a major purchase but not for six months.  Maybe things will change
