Dear members,

some time ago, I've asked the question whether it is worthwhile to add a Beolab 11 to the Beolab 3s. I have now added a golden Beolab 11 to my existing setup. I have Beolab 3s and 11 connected to an old Beocenter 1 with Dolby Digital module. After doing some listeing yesterday I have to say that I'm absolutely positively surprised. My feeling without the Beolab 11 was that the Beolab 3 sound quite similar to the Beolab 8000 and tend to get better with increasing volume. A good speaker, but as many are completely enthusiastic about them, I was expecting a little more to be honest. At the same time, many have told me that the Beolab 11 wouldn't add much to the bass of the Beolab 3s. My own conclusion now is that the combination of Beolab 3s and Beolab 11 is really great. The Beolab 11 makes a big difference and has just enough bass for a small room. I think that for rooms of about 20 square meters, this combination is not easy to beat. The 3s are great in the mids and especially in the highs and the 11 adds the missing bass. What's more, this combination does not only sound beautiful, it also looks great and offers plenty of placement options in difficult surroundings. Given what I've heard from many and also read on here, the Beolab 11 was an absolutely positive surprise for me. To conclude: I can only strongly recommend the Beolab 3 + 11 combo, particularly for rooms that are not too big.

Just my thoughts that I wanted to share.

Greetings,

Kai

Thank you for your thoughts! We need more people sharing their thoughts and experiences with different combinations of B&O products Smile

I used to own a pair of Beolab 3's with a Beolab 2, and I absolutely LOVED the combination.

Kai. I am delighted for you that you have found a sound that you love. Sound is such a personal thing but I can imagine how happy you feel with your new BL11 alongside your BL3s. I had BL3s for a few years and thought they were fabulous. Enjoy your set-up.Smile

Another post I answered an hour ago that's vanished!

To echo the thanks for posting your findings Kai. I like my BL3's with the BL2 for music and it does depend on the room, positioning and an individual's preference. Great to have feedback which can help others.

Dave.

Thanks guys. I really do think that the Beolab 11 is a great design for a subwoofer and pretty underappreciated designwise. And it's a great match with the Beolab 3s. Good product. Much better than I thought it would be. Cheers, Kai
