Hi Roy and welcome to Beoworld. I assume that's your first post but I can't tell via an iPad.

Yes, the S3 looks interesting and if I get another 15% off voucher via my wife's A3 which is due to arrive tomorrow, I may 'need' to invest in a pair.

A review of their sound quality would be great.

Dave.

There's a very nice range of Bluetooth speakers in the Play portfolio. Something design-wise and price-wise to suit most (I'm sure not all) tastes.

Now produce an 32-40 inch V1 TV replacement that can project surround sound via Bluetooth to two of the speakers, or wired to 4 and I'll take 2 immediately.

An elegant, affordable Beopay TV with terrific sound in some very nice colours.

I like it. It's cool and funky. Anyway notice the bright lapis blue (like the BL2500) has returned :)

The pink one will prove popular with the new rose gold iPhone :)

I like the looks. Hope it sounds good Smile

But I don't understand why it don't have batteries. At least it does not say anything about it in the site?

It's a baby BeoLab 19.

I like the look and functionality. It appears only to be available on BeoPlay.com and Bang & Olufsen stores. It will be distributed by a very large global distributer. I don't think it will be featured in many B1 stores as its not mandatory and probably only available for dealers to order in boxes of 10Wink

Didn't you source some orange covers for your A8?

too bad, I was seriously hoping for a Sonos Play 1 alternative, that I could integrate in bathrooms and floors...unfortunately, it seems like there is not going to be a simple multiroom solution to Sonos, and I have to continue to integrate Sonos speakers with my Beosystem 4, tthe B&O v1 and the Beovision 11, which I just ordered a couple weeks ago. Sure, I could go with the new A6, but that speaker is just too much for bathrooms and floorways...hopefully there will be an A3 or similar soon with true multiroom functionality.

Or is it possible to connect the new S3 with the Moment and / or the Essence?

Should be fine with both - I don't see why not!

A combo with an Essence, 2 S3's and (?) a BL19 would be nice ;-)

How would I connect the speakers though?  I understand that the Essence and the Moment support Bluetooth, but the actual output to the speakers would be WISA, right.

Frequencies 90-20000Hz -3db when Beolab 4 are 55-33000Hz -10db and Beolit 15 is 37-20000Hz -10db.

How do they compare (especially for bass frequencies)?

My problem with Bluetooth is that, AFAIK, all speakers have the same name. I wanted to buy an additional A2, but how do you differentiate between the two (or 3) since they all show up as "Beoplay A2" (or S3 in this case) on my device?

Wired speakers connection RJ45/PL from Moment/Essence.

P.S. The Essence has no WiSA-connection.

All cool boutique hotels advertise Bluetooth speakers as selling points of their rooms along with Nespresso machines and contemporary furnishings. They are using BOSE. I stayed at an amazing one call POD in Cape Town a few weeks ago. This S3 would look amazing in these hotels. B&O seriously need to get this cute lil thing in these rooms! Its the right price point for hotels and looks fab and would promote the B&O name well!

Perhaps a little note from the hotel will be required saying if you love your speaker so much that you take it home (it's suitcase-sized after all) we'Ll charge your credit card! Wink

How many beoworlders will have a pentalobe trio like this °o° at home (two S3 and one BeoLab 19)?

They won't be mine. For my penguins in the living room and Mrs Dolly (o-o) Barton in the dining room and A triple tipsy (A3) in my kitchen dont't exspect any more newcomers.

I still think that your BS8 as a problem of some sort, or your Idevice, or the connector, or the placement in the room, or the switch wall/free/corner.

The two that are around me (friends) sound very good.

I said it before BS8 can fill a very large room with great sound for nice parties.

Hi BeoGreg, not a fault/problem, I just don't like the flat midrange sound it produces. Same when over the years I had demos of it. It just sounds unexciting and flat. Yes its loud but just not involving. But I found that with the Century so maybe the B&O sound isn't for me. It like a really bright sound.

Hi Dasun,

Yes, you can easily use a pair of S3 speakers with either a Beosound Moment or an Essence.  To use the Essence with an S3 speaker, please use the cable and the adapter from the links below:-

You can either use one speaker, or set up two S3 speakers as a stereo pair (they will link wirelessly, so you just need one cable plus the adapter connected from the Essence to the nearest speaker).
To use the speakers with the Moment, please use the same cable and adapter as above, but you will also need a Speaker Sense Adapter for the Moment (this plugs into the speaker Powerlink socket on the Moment to ensure that it responds to remote control commands without having conventional Powerlink speakers connected):-
Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.

Hey Steve,

I know this post is old, however, I need some advise here.

I am in the situation where I have 2 x S3's that I am trying to pair with the Beosound Moment through BlueTooth.

According to B&O it is possible, but the speakers dont show up at all, when running the Wireless Speaker setup. Though, through the bluetooth setup, i can connect my mobiles with no issue. So the BlueTooth unit works.

So, my question is, am I obliged to cable the S3's to the Moment to make them work and if so, what cable should I use?

Same as mentioned in your post?

Or... does the Moment actually work with Bluetooth speakers?

Thanks.

Hi,

Moment won't automatically work wirelessly with S3 speakers.  I just deal with the cables, but I'm sure someone else on here will be able to advise on wireless options.

Please feel free to get in touch via my sponsor link below if you need any help with cables and I will be pleased to assist.

Kind regards, Steve.
