Hi.
I am going to renew the bathroom and i want to install some speakers. Someone who has the experience and can recommend some speakers/solution?
I was thinking on the new S3, but it seems like a bad idea (for now)..
Dave Farr:I suppose it depends on what you want from them and the installation. Do you want a portable speaker or something hard wired? What will your source of music be? B&O did make an in-wall/ceiling speaker that could take humid environments but it's hard wired and permanent. You don't need large powerful speakers as bathrooms are normally quite small with lots of reflective surfaces. I got the S3's for the bathroom so I could use them via Bluetooth, however, I actually like to use either my A2 or Beolit 12 and use AirPlay. The short time they are in the humidity is no problem and when I've finished I just take them out of the bathroom to use elsewhere. Dave.

I was actually thinking on a S3, but it would be nice to just push a button and the music/radio will start playing.. Not picking up the speaker and go for a bath :) Are you using them with bluetooth or wired?
The disadvantage of a hard wired speaker is of course if i want to move to another house, i can not take them with me.. :(
The multi room would be nice..
Normann:The multi room would be nice..
Thats why I bought especially for the bathroom an old BL2000 + sounded nice

Hi there Normann, you might consider a beolink passive to either in ceiling speakers (I have 3 link rooms using fairly well specified in ceiling speakers - perfectly good as they are not main listening rooms) or if you are renewing the bathroom room, gel audio transducers behind one of the plasterboard/wet walls. I'm using these in my bathroom (from an mcl2p) and the sound is okay - perfectly good enough whilst in the bath or shower - it's not exactly a Beolab 5 but again, not the main listening room. The gel audio units are relatively inexpensive, and convert the panel into a speaker of sorts. Very discreet and can be kept out of harms way re shower splash etc.
Good luck with your project!
Just to be clear I have no affiliation with SFX technology or the gel audio brand, but in case you are interested here is some more info about the transducers

you will need the volume boost from a beolink passive or the like to use these, as in my experience they need a fair bit of "oomph" to sound their best!
To me it seems, that the days of the installed-solution of linked speakers in a bathroom are over (if you don't already have some there).
At least for most of us! You must really spend a lot of time in the bathroom to justify the costs for the installation.
Opposed to before we now have pretty good (bluetooth) solutions for that - and most people nowadays take their phone with them there anyway.
Personally - depending on the size of the room - I would prefer an A2 or a BeoLit 15 for that.
If you want something stationary, one S3 would be perfect - why shouldn't it?
Not many people need music with a 'wide stereo perspective' and in perfect lossless quality whilst taking a shower ((;-))
Just my two cents!

There is a tv - and there is a BV
I am still hoping for a small speaker with multiroom, would be very elegant and convenient to just "touch" speaker and it starts playing so I don't need to search for my phone and choose music to send over BT etc...
Would be nice, yes.
But untill that maybe happens, the A2/BeoLit15/S3 should be fine - easy to (re)use in another room, then.
Once connection is made between A2, S3, Beolits and your iPad, phone etc, once you switch on the speaker, it's normally automatically reconnected so you should just be able to play music in two steps - switch speaker on, press play music. It then plays the music of your choice - not what was last played. Which if it's not what you wanted to play anyway, you'd have to do exactly the same - turn on the speaker and select music. Who knows what updates may come next?

This would be so great! We can just hope for an "A3" - half the size of the A6 and music by a touch of a finger
I'll think i will go for an A2 or use my "old" Beolit 12 for my bathroom, until they will launch a small multi room speaker..
And use the extra money i save on another B0 product

A3 one of B&O's best ever products and ideal for bathroom use. (But the gaskets do expand and become a poorer fit over time.)

Great example for A3. And a wonderful bathroom.
