Hi,
Hope someone can help please. Im trying to get my Beomaster 900 up & running but hitting a brick wall.
The radio tuner works beautifully and the sound is fantastic but the record deck is another thing. The turntable turns fine and i can get some sound but only through one speaker and quite low volume. Ive tried adjusting what i think is the balance adjuster (underneath the amp) but makes very little difference. I thought it was a fault with the record deck or stylus but ive purchased another and it's still exaclty the same. Its really bugging me now and i dont want to bin it.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Steve
Welcome to Beoworld !
Is the turntable also a B&O ?You say the balance control is underneath the Beomaster ?Do you have one of the radiogram versions of Beomaster 900 ?
If the problem is with the Beomaster, it could be as simple as a bad contact in the DIN socket but of course itcould also be something else.- Oh, and we like photos. :-)

Hi Martin
Many thanks for the response.
Yes, ive tried 2 x B&O Turntables (one is the original) and the replacement is identical. Ive also tried 3 x different stylus cartridges.
Yes, the balance is underneath and it is a 900rg i believe
Im presuming you mean the din socket in the amp as both record players have their own leads?
Many thanks
Yes, the socket at the rear of the Beomaster.
Thanks Martin,
ill have a look this weekend. If i swap the plug into the tape deck socket (which i dont use) and select tape, would that tell me anything?
Thanks
A RIAA preamplifier has been mounted either inside the Beogram or inside the Beomaster. If inside the Beogram, it should also work if connected to the tape socket. If inside the Beomaster, you will only get a very tinny (unpleasant) and low volume sound if you connect the Beogram to the tape socket, - butthis signal should of course be present in both channels.
Thanks Martin for all your help, very much appreciated. Ill let you know the outcome
Thanks again
