Now that the A9 as a bluetooth connexion, I guess it can be easily handled around the house if (like me) you don't have (want) permanent wifi signal.

I use my Beolit 15 with my phone or pad via bluetooth and it works fine but I would like an extra sound.

Do you think that the A9 could be a good "portable" (mobile) speaker ? Do you move yours ?

Of course I understand that it's going to be wired in different rooms, it can even be wired with ethernet plug for direct internet access.

Of course again, it's based on my thoughts that A9 as better sound than Beolit 15, but I'm maybe wrong.

Well you can move it - it has a carry handle on the back but it's not the most 'mobile' device.  It's quite heavy and with the legs attached a bit awkward.

The speaker seperation is much bigger on an A9 and the sound is excellent and would probably also be quite a bit louder that a Beolit 15.  If you want to move it regularly, I would count it out but if it's only very occasionally, it would be possible but not ideal.  I think you'd get fed up trying to move it and revert to the Beolit 15.

In short, no, it's not a good portable device and I do not move mine.

Dave.

Thanks Dave, would be indeed very occasional, my concern is that I don't know where to keep it when not in use !

Home too small or too full of equipment or both.

My dealer don't believe me when I say that my Beolit 15 is in a cupboard but it's true. Only out when I whant to use it.

But a A9 ? Uge cupboard I would need. Or a fake satelite dish on the balcony !

I just think of the answer of my questions : I need to hire a spare A9 at my dealer if he as any and test it for a week.

Can do that for chirstmas holidays. Good.

You could buy a wall hanger for it and just remove the legs for storage.  At least it would be flat against a wall somewhere!  I have mine in a corner so it dosen't stand out very much and becomes a part of the furniture.  If you are that shgort of space, maybe the A9 isn't for you but the S3'sd could be if you only want Bluetooth.  The S3's are awesome when stereo paired and are small.

Dave.

Hang it from the ceiling like a giant lamp shade!

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Two good ideas ! I could hang it on the wall where my dead Beosound 3 lies and get electricity from the heater just underneath (rarely on in south east France).

A wire will be apparent, I have to work on that because I hate those and it's a very hard wall.

Sure it will be easier to stick with my Beolit 15 (or buy a second one to improve the stereo effect).

If you want bigger sound than a Beolit 15 but more portability than an A9 maybe an A6? If how it looks appeals to you, personally it leaves me cold.

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

Your right Jeff, good idea.

I, indeed, just want better sound than Beolit 15 (it's not a bad little speaker but it's rather limited).

A6 should be here soon for a test.

I also don't particularly like the looks (to stay polite) but it's the same for Beolit 15 or A9.
