Hi everyone,

Do you know where I can dowload the PUC code for the NVIDIA SHIELD ANDROID TV ?

I connected it to the HDMI 1 of my BEOVISION AVANT 55 and I have great 4K videos ! But I would like to use the BEOREMOTE ONE instead of the NVIDIA SHIELD REMOTE...

The NVIDIA SHIELD ANDROID TV is HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compatible and you can read HEVC 4K files without problem !

Thanks

There probably isnt any PUC for it yet but ask B&O customer support for it! This box seems perfect for HEVC-files and 4K file streaming (if it can access it locally as well).

It also has Netflix UHD (4K) so that is just perfect! I think I want to order the same box also. It also has IR receiver (just for Logitech harmony) so it WILL work with B&O also.

Very very interesting box.

Gigabit ethernet as well.

And one thing to be extra cautious about is that BeoVision avant has only ONE HDCP 2.2 port. The other ones are just HDCP1.4 (which is quite weird actually).

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your reply.

I've just asked to the B&O support.

Netflix's TV Shows in 4K on the Beovision Avant are fabulous !

Awesome! I am curious about box but it's a tad expensive and it's an android box. I'm a mac geek but I don't mind trying an android box. I'll consider it Smile.

How have you placed yours?

I think they sell it in a very strange way, without stand and remote. Odd.

Thanks for the info !

I contacted the B&O support who told me that I have to pay for the development of the PUC code... It seems that they changed their mind...

But it didn't work for me.

Anyone tried ?

Hi

The PUC code is readily available to download from the TV itself.

They told me the same. Which I found quite bad from a customer standpoint. Then what's the reason for an online PUC library. But yes, then I found it online in their catalog anyway.

It seems their customer support isn't really well connected with the software developers.

Was also looking to buy a Shield to connect with my BV7. Assume I am out of luck with a PUC?

The new .decx (v3.x) PUCs used by the current generation of beovisions can be converted to the older .dec (v2.x) format used by the ML generation beovisions using a software tool available to dealers and service engineers - the converted PUC can then be installed on the BV7.

This will obviously require a service visit as is the case with any PUC table update on the older beovisions but it is certainly possible.

Martin.

Thanks a lot. I only now realized you had replied.

Besides Nvidia Shield TV, is there also a PUC for the Mi Box (or is it even the same PUC)?

Also, any idea whether this is feasible without a service engineer?

You don't need the right PUC, there are other solutions like the IR-USB-Receiver FLIRC that you can use with Nvidia Shield or every other components that can handle USB-Keyboard-Inputs etc.

Maybe this thread helps:
