Hello Everyone,

I had to adjust the azimuth of the tape head of my Beocord 6500, as recordings made on B side were dull compared to side A. I've acquired suitable reference tape to do so and the sound quality is now great for both sides A and B. I'm seriously impressed!  But I've decided to change belts and recap the BC also as this hasn't been performed in many years. Before proceeding with recap I've noticed that both playback and record levels for L and R channels are different. It may not be a very audible difference, but I've decided to perform some adjustments to make this overhaul complete. I only have a service manual for BC5000 as manuals that I own for BC5500 / BC6500 are only schematics, lacking the adjustment parts. Can anybody confirm what values should I use as reference? I'm wondering if those stated in BC5000 service manual are valid for BC5500/6500/7000 as those seem to be different families. Maybe the manual for Beocenter 9500 would be better as it shares many similarities to both Beomaster 6500 and Beogram CD 6500?

Regards

Filip

Could somebody who owns a complete BC6500 service manual be so kind and send me just two pages regarding electrical adjustments?
I need to know where the test points are located.

Best regards

Hi Filip,

The service manual for the Beocord 6500 is available on-site to silver and gold members. I've just had a flick through it and its very concise.

An upgraded membership will also allow you to place wanted/for sale ads on the site and gold members get the added bonus of the quarterly prize drawer.

My brother who used to own silver memberhip here dowloaded the manual from this site and it lacked pages regarding adjustments. Can you confirm that service manual for BC6500 or BC7000 is actually a full service manual? Thanks

Hi Filip,

Yes both the mechanical and electrical adjustments are listed. The manual is titled - Beocord5500-6500-7000_service-eng_Update.pdf

Going on the updated bit at the end I'd say its been completed at some point.
