Can anyone recommend a pair of speakers to use with my Beolab 5000 amp.

Will active speakers work with it, or is that pointless?

You should be able to connect active speakers to the line out, but the speaker intended for Beolab 5000 system is Beovox 5000 with an additional Beovox cube attached.

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

IMHO very much so. You would be reducing one of the greatest amps of the 60s into a volume controller.

Tim Jarman's Beolab 5000 sounded superb when partnered with my old Leak 2075 loudspeakers - it's the best I've heard the speakers sound in fact!
