Traditional cardboard box Smile

And inside: another box! Big Smile

Finally a glimpse of the A6 wrapping

Upside down to plug in he power cord.

This is not the final position, but will do for now.

Setup:

Easy. Pops up in your iPhone as wireless speaker and connects to the WiFi.

Adding logins to all services through the Beosetup app.

Sound:

Awesome. Detailed. Good separation. Punchy bass. Beats my BL3500 with margin. Easily fills a room.

Handling:

It's not heavy. Easy to move to another room if you want.

One touch on one spot and you jump between sources. One touch at another place, and you switch between channels or songs.

Very happy so far. Will play around more and report back.

From the beginning I like it very much as well. It does match perfectly with your decoration! Congratulations.

It looks darker than on Beoplay's site... I find it even more beautiful in this condition. Is it the light in your room?

Thanks for posting, it looks great. I will also be interested in further thoughts on it and how well the multi room works. Thinking of adding one to my set up in the new year, or whenever it is I can get my hands on one in the UK.

I would like to know how it is in comparison with the A9.

Beovision 7-55 MK1 red, Beolab 10 red. Beolab 50, all black. Beolab 17 broken ice. Beolab transmitter. Apple tv4 and apple express 2.

I'm thinking it would since it has multiroom capability.

Great quick review Hiort.

Based on first impressions B&O have a hit.

I predict that by next year many of us will have one or two of these.

Thanks for sharing

Great news, thanks Hiort. The A6 is very appealing. Much more moveable than the A9. Looking forward to the UK launch.

Yes, the TV is one source that I can choose to join, from the A6.

There should not be anything special with the Avant I believe. In my world all Netlink sources should show up. What other sources than the Avant do you have? If you only have an Avant I don't think it shows.

Therefore nothing to join ?

But that would hardly be the reason for not showing -- would it ?

One must have an Essence, Moment, A9, A6 to work with the Beomusic app. Then, but only then, a NL tv is also shown. You can Join the tv, change volume, switch presets (only very basics controls)

Thanks @Hiort for the description and pictures. Though I wasn't originally impressed with the look of the A6 at first, having seen it in your setting and heard your impressions, it's started to grow on me. The mobility of it is a big plus when compared to the A9. Do you know how the sound compares to the A9?

Dave.

If the A6 is in a different room it's multi room. I know what you mean really!

I had my daughters A9 for a week a while ago and A9 is a more powerful beast and has in my ears a more "round sound" and makes a bigger impression design wise. A6 can be a bit sharp in the high midrange sometimes, but that is a matter of taste. For the room where I have the A6, this new fellow is more than sufficient. It a nobrainer if you want a casual link room speaker without the problems with masterlinkcables.

Multi room experience:

It's morning. One touch on Moment in my living room and Pattern Play give me my favorite radiostation. When moving into the kitchen area, I activate the BL2000. When done with breakfast, I walk upstairs to get dressed. One touch on A6 and it pickup what Moment plays.

When ready for work, one long touch on A6 is putting the whole system to standby.

Flawless.

If I start with playing on the A6 in my library, I can easily join from Moment in my livingroom.

This is what the TV show when I have joined:

If I have the tv news going and walk upstairs, I just touch A6 for the TV sound to play.

Superhappy.

Seems as advertised, especially seamless noting that you've got an NL/ML converter in the mix. Congrats and thanks for your posts, Hiort!

There is a long review in youtube for the french speaking members.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6AduGZwucw

The reviewer  who owns a V1 tells that the sound has strong bass, impressively loud, good stereo for such a small device but too much treble (which are a bit metallic) and not perfect mediums (but he hopes an update will correct this).

@Hiort, is it placement dependant for sound or is it similar no matter where you place it?

I have not tried different positions really. It has a switch corner/wall/free to compensate.

Right now it's in my bookshelf in my librarySmile

Its a Beoplay product and it has a moderate price. Thats why.

Think the little Beoplay badge on it is aluminium, actually Smile

Beauty is a matter of taste.

Then don't buy it. That's fine. But the number of (UK) pre-orders suggest it's already a hit.

Personally think it's one of the best B&O products for a while. Although I love my A9, it's not something you can move around very easily. This will be close to the A9 in terms of audio quality, but far more transportable. Ideal. And more cost-effective.

Hi. You do have a BLC connected in your system? And your Moment is showing the link in the display? I can not get this to work.. What have you done? Sorry for asking...
